Product Description
The war for survival of the planet Lusitania will be fought in the hearts of a child named Gloriously Bright.
On Lusitania, Ender establish a world where humans and pequininos and the Hive Queen could all live together; where three very different intelligent species could find common ground at last. Or so he thought.
Lusitania also harbors the descolada, a virus that kills all humans it infects, but which the pequininos require in order to become adults. The Startways Congress so fears the effects of the descolada, should it escape from Lusitania, that they have ordered eh destruction of the entire planet, and all who live there. The Fleet is on its way, a second xenocide seems inevitble.
Amazon.com Review
Orson Scott Card’s Xenocide is a space opera with verve. In this continuation of Ender Wiggin’s tale, the Starways Congress has sent a fleet to immolate the rebellious planet of Lusitania, home to the alien race of pequeninos, and home to Ender Wiggin and his family tree. Concealed on Lusitania is the only remaining Hive Queen, who holds a secret that may save or ruin humanity throughout the galaxy. Familiar characters from the previous novels continue to grapple with religious conflicts and family tree squabbles while inventing quicker-than-light travel and miraculous virus treatments. Throw into the mix an entire planet of mad geniuses and a self-aware computer who wants to be a martyr, and it’s hard to guess who will topple the first domino. Due to the densely natural fiber and melodramatic scenery of the tale, newcomers to Ender’s tale will want to start reading this series with the first books, Ender’s Game and Speaker for the Dead. –Brooks Peck

I bought “Enders Game” and loved it.
I bought “Speaker For the Dead” and liked it more that Enders Game.
I bought this volume expecting more fantastic things from this leader.
This is one of the worst Sci-Fi book I ever tried to read. Most of the people of Path suffer from OCD (obcessive Compulsive Disorder, but are extremely intelegent, and they have learned Jane (the AI program Ender made in Battle school, and they are effective to ruin her.
Jane warns the people of Lusitania of the threat to her, and the poeple of Lusitania have learned a way to relief a virus on Path to cure the people of Path of their OCD, and in the process lower their intelegence giving them time to work with the hegemony and clarify Jane was no threat and showing how that people could travel lightyears in seconds as a replacement for of taking decades at speeds close to the speed of light to go between planets, and to prove the Descolada virus was no longer a threat.
But; this book is so slow and tedious; I do not recommend it, and I never bought another book in this series.

Read ENDERS GAME and ENDERS SHADOW skip the rest
ENDERS GAME and ENDERS SHADOW are two of the best science fiction books ever. The additional books in the series are all bubble gum for the brain

Ender’s Game is one of the best novels written. Not only is it a purely enjoyable read, but it surrounds and is encapsulated by situations and events that will place you thinking for months and years afterwards.
As excellent as Ender’s Game is, Xenocide is unworthy to follow it. It follows a simplistic premise and frustrating tale. Even if you snub the total lack of scientific developments in the hundreds of years passed since Ender’s Game, it’s still just a dull, unfortunate followup to a sci-fi classic.
The only thing worse than Xenocide is Children of the Mind. Skip them both – if you must know what happens, question a friend who was unlucky enough to read them both.
Card is an brilliant writer, and Ender’s Game is too excellent to have been followed up with such a poor second.

I was looking for something for a very long plane flight that was light and fun, requiring no thought. This was perfect for that and I can scarcely remember what I read once I had finished it. It stirred along, got intricate, then resolved.
It puzzles me why this is seen as classic sci-fi. In my opinion, it doesn’t even come close, and bottom there are stereotypes, such as that Chinese are the smartest race, etc.
