Product Description
For anyone who’s ever wished to, but had distress starting, keeping, or finishing a journal or sketchbook comes Wreck This Journal, an illustrated book that features a subversive collection of prompts, asking readers to muster up their best mistake- and mess-building abilities to fill the pages of the book (and ruin them). Acclaimed illustrator Keri Smith encourages journalers to engage in “destructive” acts-poking holes through pages, adding photos and defacing them, painting with coffee, and more-in order to experience the right creative process. Readers learn a new way of art and journal building-and new ways to escape the dread of the blank page and fully engage in the creative process.

i thought this was an actual journal, but it is more of a crafting project, a terrible crafting project at that.
i would have agreed it 0 stars, but that was not an option.

This was a BIG waste of money…pages include silly things like lick this page, tear this page out and crumple it, pour your coffee on this page, etc. etc. Again…NOT RECOMMENDED…BIG WASTE!!

I like the thought of a journal that tells you how to “write” (read: ruin) it. It sort of reminds me of “This Book Will Change Your Life” by Benrik. But while it’s a clean thought, it doesn’t so much serve a real purpose… Just something clean to have on your coffee table, perhaps, or just place on your bookshelf, as my copy will probably do.

I get the thought of this journal, which I would not call it that. It is supposed to show you the beauty in destruction and relief inhibitions. I establish the book very repetitive and reasonably frankly dull. I wanted a book that was different but I still wanted some substance. Like maybe a few silly prompts or something like that but nope. The whole book is filled with pages like: Throw this against a wall or take this book in the shower, etc. That’s basically it. Might be excellent for kids but I don’t get this “journal.”

This book seemed like a excellent thing to have at first but when I got it and opened it, it was a small disappointing. Sure, it’s all about embracing the beauty and pleasure destruction can cause but additional than that, its not really fantastic for anything. If you have a small imagination you could just buy a blank sketchbook and fill it with things to do yourself.
Journals are supposed to document events and save memories, etc. dragging the book, spilling stuff on it, sleeping with it and taking it for a walk is just unadorned ancient silly. It’s a fantastic book for kids though, I gave mine to my son and he just likes it.
