I bought two kids cooking books. This one had the same recipes that the additional one had but the additional one had more recipes so I returned this one and kept the additional one. Nothing really is incorrect with it but I just wanted more for my money.

I bought this book after looking through lots of additional books because I have permanently liked the thought of baking but have permanently been really terrible at it but my daughter really was intrested in cooking with me, so I needed a book that that was for beginners and showed and clarified exactly how to do everything with excellent pictures… I bought the book about 2 weeks ago and so far we have made the coconut cupcakes and the peanut butter kiss recipes, not only have we not killed the rest of the family tree but everyone has been amazed how excellent they taste. Only down side and this is more our fault that anything, is that if you don’t have the staples of cooking (which we didn’t) buying all the ingrediants can be a small expensive, I definetly reflect that buying regular cupcakes in the supermarket is going to be cheaper but I’ve never tasted such fantastic cupcakes in my life before, I will definetly be redoing that recipe. I plot on building every recipe in the book, it’s fantastic bonding time with my daughter and I’m learing how to cook too…

Fantastic book for kids. My granddaughter loved it for Christmas 2009. Arrived just in time for Christmas and in fantastic condition.

This cookbook is fantastic for kids, and encourages them to work with their parents. The pictures give a excellent thought of what baker should be doing. But, when we try any recipes from the bread section, their pictures of dough never match ours. The pretzel recipe was to DIE FOR! I reflect I ate 4 of them. They taste just like the ones sold at the mall! The pizza dough recipe wasn’t terrible either. The butter milk biscuts turned out light and fluffy. We haven’t made all the recipes yet, but so far the only flop we’ve had was the braided egg bread. I’m the mom here and I was having serious issues with that recipe. We finished up throwing away the dough and if I remember correctly, eating a box of oreos instade. But this book is worth it for that pretzel recipe alone.

Every recipe we have tried has been fantastic. My daughter (age 10) regularly makes the recipes by herself (with the exception of the oven part). We have made the chocolate chip cookie cake (twice), pizza dough, and chocolate crinkle cookies. All were brilliant. I can’t wait to try more recipes from this book!
