We needed one reference that wouldn’t take up too much of the space and weight in our luggage limit of 40 lbs – this one book did the trick. The photos were fantastic and the descriptions were helpful both before the trip and in the meadow. It was NOT, but, a thorough reference, but a reasonable selection of most of the species and flora you’d typically see. Warning: there are too many marine/fish species to honestly represent in one compact meadow guide so none are included. The leader recommends looking for a separate guide for fish.

We have permanently been fascinated by Darwin’s adventures in the area and the fauna to be establish there. This book is very perfect and will give us a excellent thought of what to expect during our own voyage there this coming Fall, where the book will serve as a reference to guide me in my photographic explorations for my forum. During last year’s trip to Italy I made nearly 900 photographs. I expect to make at least twice that number this year with the aid and guidance of this book.

This book and a highlighter made it possible to keep track of the many birds and mammals, plants and invertrabrates that we saw during a recent week in the Galapagos. I would highly recommend it.
