Product Description
On the heels of George Carlin’s #1 New York Times bestseller Napalm & Silly Putty comes When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops? — infused with Carlin’s trademark irreverent humor and biting cultural observations.
Here we go again . . . George Carlin’s hilarious When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops? offers his cutting-edge opinions and observational humor on everything from evasive euphemistic language to politicians to the media to dead people. Nothing and no one is safe!
Despite the current climate of political correctness, Carlin is not worried to take on controversial topics:
–Carlin on the media: The media comprises equal parts business, politics, publicity, public relations, and show business. Nice combination. Enough bull for Texas to open a chain of branch offices.
–Carlin on the battle of the sexes: Here’s all you have to know about men and women: women are crazy, men are stupid. And the main reason women are crazy is that men are stupid.
–Carlin on hygiene: When did they pass a law that says the people who make my sandwich have to be wearing gloves? I’m not comfortable with this. I don’t want glove residue all over my food; it’s not sanitary. Who knows where these gloves have been?
–Carlin on evasive language: Just to demonstrate how far using euphemisms in language has gone, some psychologists are now really referring to hideous people as persons with “severe appearance deficits.” Hey, Doctor. How’s that for “denial”?
–Carlin on politics: No self-respecting politician would ever admit to effective in the government. They prefer to reflect of themselves “serving the nation.” To help envision the service they provide the country, you may wish to picture the things that take place on a stud farm.
The thinking person’s comic who uses words as weapons, Carlin puts voice to issues that capture the modern imagination. For instance, why are there Ten Commandments? Are UFOs real? What will the future really be like? This brand-new collection tackles all that and more.
In When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops? Carlin’s razor-sharp observations demolish everyday values and place you laughing out loud — delivering exactly what his countless fans have been waiting for.

This book is a disgrace. The book is very offensive to my christian faith in Jesus Christ. Now, it is Carlin’s right to write this book, but it is also my right to write a negative review about it and the right of book stores to make the choice to not carry the brassy ignorant book. I find it very amusing that after writing this book, Mr. Carlin admitted himself to drug rehab. Fantastic choice, Mr. Carlin!!!!! Go to church at the same time. In response to the man’s comment that all people opposed to this book are right wingers and christians, yes I am a Christian and very proud of it and yes I am a Republican, not a right wing republican, but a republican. I hope that you all had a very merry CHRISTmas. God bless. I am praying for you, Mr. Carlin.

This book was unadorned offensive…he should not write about a mans religion. The book was filled with immature jokes.

George Carlin needs to have his mouth washed out with soap – perhaps his brain, too. I read as much of this offensive book as I could stand and then got up and threw it in the trash.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but when you choose a title of this scenery you are looking to offend people, and poke fun at thier faith. George Carlin is a very brilliant, but immature man that never grew out of using playground antics to make a point. I don’t really care what people reflect about my faith. It is simple to poke fun, but you and George Carlin are just being passive aggressive and grave because you don’t know how to judge in something you can’t see. What the heck did Jesus ever do to you? Maybe you don’t like some of his people. Well, neither do I? But I’m really smart enough to know people can say they are Christians, lacking really living it the way Jesus wants us to. How much of that has to do with Christ or his teachings? Maybe one day George Carlin will grow up and be able to respectfully chat about his point of view, lacking having to be an insulting ass. But then, all the idiots who like him so much wouldn’t know what he was talking about. Hmmm, could it be that George Carlin is mostly about politics, show-business and and building a few greenbacks. Christians buy these books because we really can handle our views and beliefs being challenged, and can respect additional people and thier differences. Clearly George has a lot of pain where faith is concerned, he wouldn’t be in drug and alcohol rehab if he didn’t struggle. Realize that by apt part of a 12 step recovery program that he is submitting to principles arrived at from Bill W. reading the bible and making AA. One of these days, George Carlin is going to have to grow up and so, my “heathen” friend, are you.

George carlin is no weirder to brassy and crude language. What a disgusting thing to make fun of Jesus and The Last Supper. Walmart chose to NOT offer this. I dont recommend this unless you want a thrill and daily shock value.
