Product Description
In this suspense masterpiece, Karin Slaughter weaves together the powerful human tales of three unforgettable characters from her New York Times bestselling novels Faithless and Broke, who collide here for the first time in an electrifying race against unspeakable human evil.
When a tortured young woman enters the trauma center of an Atlanta hospital, Dr. Sara Linton is thrust into a desperate police investigation with Special Agent Will Trent and his partner, Faith Mitchell. Though guarding their own wounds and their own secrets, Sara, Will, and Faith find that they are all that stand between a madman and his next victim.

I am a ex- Slaughter fan. Ex- as of the moment she killed Jeffrey off in Beyond Reach. She not only obliterated any of her (ex-)fans interest in any future Grant County books, but also most likely hurt future sales as far as her past novels are concerned. Who wants to start a series that will only end in the destruction of the main male character? I hope additional authors take heed and learn from KS’s mistakes. I will never buy another of her books, even persons having nothing to do with Grant County. I feel betrayed.

maybe this won’t be published. i have to say that after the traumatic ending of Beyond Reach, i have no interest in reading any further books by Slaughter. i have seen this book in bookstores. and just now i saw an ad for it on TNT — the first ad of this type i’ve seen on TV. perhaps it is well-written. but, i read fiction for entertainment and escaping from my own traumas. if i wanted brutal reality, i’d read right crime. and so, i boycott karin slaughter. as a matter of fact, before retiring last year after 34 years in a public library, i discouraged people from reading slaughter’s books because i knew they’d be disappointed. just my take.

Christians will want to avoid this book. (NOTE–I AM ABOUT TO GIVE AWAY PLOT DETAILS, SO PLEASE STOP HERE IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS IN THE BOOK).
Basically, Slaughter despises, despises, despises Christians. The serial killer’s mother keeps supporting and loving her son–all the while hating and incredulous her daughter for no apparent reason–while mumbling Christian platitudes and going to church. She continues to insist on Christian values while trying to stab to death a policeman. The serial himself killer is a church going sadist.
Right. About as believable as alien abductions.
No doubt Slaughter is basing these evil Christians on all the serial killers Christians like Bundy and Gacy and Berkowitz and Dahmer…Oh, wait. None of them were Christians. Although Berkowitz may have been interested in Satanism.
There is also something very weird and even disturbing about Slaughter’s main characters, the passive, abused Will, whose relationship with Angie can only be called vile, and the bossy, dominating Amanda. Then there’s Faith, who was bored by the unmarried man who fathered her child, but finds the married man who wants a fling ever so intriguing.
Frankly, the whole lot stand in desperate need of the 10 commandments.
