Three hunters of humans meet for the essential showdown at the TRUCK STOP.
Taylor is a recreational killer, with dozens of gristly murders under his belt. He pulls into a busy Wisconsin truck stop at midnight, trolling for the next to die.
Chicago Homicide cop Jacqueline “Jack” Daniels is a long way from home, driving to meet her boyfriend for a well-earned trip. She pulls into the truck stop for a quick cup of coffee and stumbles into her worst nightmare.
Jack’s no weirder to dealing with psychos, but she’s got her hands full trying to stop Taylor. Especially since he’s getting help from a name just as deadly; a portly serial maniac named Donaldson…
TRUCK STOP is a 15,000 word thriller tale that ties together Konrath’s and Kilborn’s works, with terrifying results.

I thought this would be a novel, something more elaborated, but it turns out to be a fleeting tale which develops reasonably quick and reasonably predictable -since the main character uses first person for her narrative-. It is kind of entertaining, but nothing outstanding.

Excellent Stuff:
I sat down and read this in one sitting. It was so excellent I didn’t want to stop.
The writing, formatting, editing, etc. were terrific and what I have come to expect from Mr. Konrath’s novels.
The action was tightly written with no extraneous detail.
Terrific from beginning to end.
The Terrible Stuff:
None that I can reflect of.
This isn’t really a criticism, but I wanted to have more background on Taylor and Donaldson (I’m terrible with names, hope I got persons right.). I permanently like to know the ‘why’ behind a serial killer. But, that’s just my personal inclination. It certainly did not affect my enjoyment of this gruesome tale.
Overall:
If you liked Serial at all, you will like this even more. It’s not reasonably as gory, but there’s a time and a place for everything. This tale hits the bull’s eye for action/suspense fans who like a small blood and gore on the side.

Although the plot was excellent there was no follow through. Very featureless for a tale that had potential

Since I am on a roll with Jack Kilborn books I went for Truck Stop- A Psycho Thriller.
Truck Stop is a fleeting tale (tale) of 15,000 words. It took me less than an hour to read it. The tale was really excellent but, since it was fleeting it left me wanting more.
***My advise is to save your money and place it towards Serial Uncut. Truck Stop is included in Serial Uncut along with more of the tale. I read Serial Uncut and really skipped over the Truck Stop section because I already read it. Serial Uncut will give you what you are looking for.***
Serial Uncut wraps the original Serial (Blake Crouch, Jack Kilborn, and J.A. Konrath), Terrible Girl (Blake Crouch), and Truck Stop (Jack Kilborn and J.A. Konrath) all into one.
Truck Stop has gotten me interested in the Jack Daniels series by J.A. Konrath (aka Jack Kilborn). I will be headed in that direction next. Mr Konrath/Kilborn sure knows what he is doing!
