The latest political thriller from the national bestselling leader of Term Limits
What if America’s most powerful leader was also its prime target?
On a busy Washington morning, amid the shuffle of tourists and the brisk rush of government officials, the stately cool of the White House is shattered in a hail of gunfire. A group of terrorists has descended on the Executive Mansion, and gained access by means of a violent massacre that has left dozens of innocent bystanders murdered. Through the quick actions of the Secret Service, the president is evacuated to his underground bunker, but not before nearly one hundred hostages are taken.
While the politicians and the military leaders argue over how to negotiate with the terrorists, one man is sent in to break through the barrage of panicked responses and political agendas surrounding the chaotic crisis. Mitch Rapp, the CIA’s top counterterrorism operative, makes his way into the White House and soon discovers that the president is not as safe as Washington’s power elite had thought. Moving stealthily among the corridors and secret passageways of the White House, Rapp scrambles to save the hostages before the terrorists can extract the president from the safety of his bunker. In a race against time, Rapp makes a chilling discovery that could rock Washington to its core: a name within his own government is maneuvering in hopes that his rescue attempt will fail.
With the crackling tension and explosive action that made Term Limits “a roller-coaster, edge-of-your-seat thriller” (Minneapolis Star-Tribune), Vince Flynn delivers Transfer of Power — a blockbuster novel that carries us just beyond today’s headlines.

Don’t you Americans have enough excellent guys vs. terrible guys (read: Muslim terrorists) books to last you? How much longer are you going to buy into the pathetic notion that the United States is lacking blemish, and that anyone who disagrees is evil and somehow motivated by a severe personality defect and an inherent hatred of all things excellent? I mean, please! Terrorists taking over the White House, the lone operative sent in to resuce the president – surely modern literature has risen above such cliched and generic black and white tales. Not even worth reading – get a life, read a book that requires some thought and challenges generally-held assumptions and opinions, rather than cementing the myth of American greatness against the lie of everyone else’s evil.

What a horrible book! I tried to read it but I just couldn’t take it anymore. I stopped in the middle of what this writer considers action, and I don’t even care how it ends.
There are just too many unjustified descriptions obviously place it to make the book long. Thus writer must want long books like Clancy but is going about it the incorrect way. I don’t care to know what color a lady’s fingernails are when she points at something. I don’t care what kind of shirt a name is wearing. I don’t care about this book nor Vince Flynn’s additional books.
Way too many incorrect references. One example is MP-5’s are used not MP-10’s unless you want to kill everybody including the hostages. Also at the beginning why even bother with a SEAL team if the “hero” of the book does all the work. I know that writers want to show their character as a terrible to the bone but even James Bond permanently called in help and even let them do some of the fighting.
If this is the standard of writing to expect from todays writers then I am missing out, because I have some tales that I wrote when I was 5 that are better than this. Heck I could even start writing now. It seams that no research is required anymore to get the mass public to make a star out of a writer like Vince Flynn.
There is no way that I will ever pass this book onto a name else. I won’t even donate it, I will just burn it.

I was surprised to learn from leader Flynn that Saddam Hussein was funding Hamas and Hezbollah. And here I thought they wanted him replaced with a theocracy. If you delight in bone idle, half-researched writing like this, with lots of space between the lines to make up for a low word count, then this would be an admirable title for you. Certainly right-wingers still clinging to their ancient notions will find this pablum simple to digest.
Tom Clancy should quiver if anyone compares this hack network TV-quality writer to him. Needless to say, I skimmed through a couple of chapters then gave the book a thorough recycling.

This one establish it’s way to the trashcan at the speed of light
Unbelievable plot, poorly researched, horrible execution and dialog, I don’t know what the positive reviewers are reviewing, but for the sake of intelligence it can’t be this book.
If you don’t mind to place your brain on stand-by and spend a few hours reading this, go yet to be, if you do, pick yourself another thriller, it will be very simple to find something better than this.

Gave up after 64 pages, what a sham, the heroic hero calls his SEAL buddy Harry, the man’s name is Dan Harris, the President is called Woody for no clarified reason as his name is Robert X. Hayes, Ramstein Air Base, Germany is called Ramstein Air Force Base, the White House security people will let just anyone in to see the Pres, you can’t be serious, “the hero’s lean biceps bulged under the fabric of his black polo shirt he was wearing” did we have to be told that he was wearing the shirt after being told of the bulging business, either consign this joke to the trash can or give it to a person that you really dislike. Minus 3 stars.
