Long before scientists in Scotland cloned Dolly the sheep, Todd Wilbur was hard at work replicating recipes from some of America’s favorite restaurant chains. Armed with Ziploc bags for transporting leftovers and plenty of questions for his servers, Wilbur has combined the skills of a private eye and a research scientist to devise the tasty clones included in Top Secret Restaurant Recipes. Wilbur honed his technique on convenience food, making exact duplicates of everything from a Huge Mac to a Twinkie; in this book, but, he sets his sights on slightly more sophisticated fare. Within these pages you’ll find sure-fire recipes for such chain favorites as Hard Rock Cafe’s Legendary Baby Rock Watermelon Ribs, Cheese Blintzes from the International House of Pancakes, and The Lime Garden’s Hot Artichoke-Spinach Dip. Denny’s, Shoney’s, The Cheesecake Factory, and Pizza Hut are just a few of the many chain restaurants from which well loved menu items have been “cloned.” So the next time you have a hankering for Tony Roma’s World Legendary Ribs or a slice of Red Robin’s Mountain High Mud Pie, don’t bother to go out–as a replacement for, eat in with Top Secret Restaurant Recipes.

I lived in Australia, Singapore and Malaysia – but now I’ve to go back to Indonesia. Having set up a business in a rural area, it’s so hard to get “ready made foodstuff” like Mayonese, or additional instant sauce. Transportation is terrible, and I really creave for persons food I used to eat overseas. I just hope Todd will try to clarify more how to make persons ‘instant stuff’ from scratch! How to make a nice mayonese, mustard, or additional necessary sauce. Replacement flour, or butter. Eventhough I got this book, there are lotsa stuffs I can’t cook unless I glide to get persons ingredients! Please…please tell us more!

I have some of Gloria Pitzer books so maybe that is why I didn’t like this book.Mr Wilbur thinks the secret to KFC is MFG, no way. Maybe it is just me but, when I buy a cook book I don’t want a lot of talk and a lot pictures, I know how to place a hamburger together. Don’t buy this book it is a waste of your time and money.

Whoever this HARDLUCK is; he is trying his best to keep people from buying cook books by Pattie Hensley. What is is basic problem? What is he selling on Amazon? He questions if Charles Holcomb from California is Douglas Hensley (Who is a fantastic writer) and Pattie Hensley, who writes cook books. His review is to make sure people do not buy the Hensley’s book. It makes me marvel why a jerk would go to this extreme? He mentions how Charles Holcomb uses this book to promote books by the Hensley’s but would a name show me a review from Charles Holcomb on this book. Hardluck,… get a life and let us choose what books we want to buy.
