Product Description
When Ellie and her friends go camping, they have no thought they’re leaving their ancient lives behind forever. Despite a less-than-tragic food shortage and a secret crush or two, everything goes as plotted. But a week later, they return home to find their houses empty and their pets starving. Something has gone incorrect–horribly incorrect. Before long, they realize the country has been invaded, and the entire town has been captured–including their families and all their friends. Ellie and the additional survivors face an impossible choice: They can flee for the mountains or surrender. Or they can fight.

I fail to know why everyone likes this book so much. The characters are zero-dimensional. The plot is ludicrous and fantastic at best- absurd at worst. The invaders are completely unrealistic and unbelievable, even for one-dimensional figureheads of evil. The dialogue is sickening. The action is stilted and unrealistic. None of the main characters are even remotely likeable. The list goes on for ever, but I will stop it here by adage: Tomorrow, When the War Started is terrible.

I liked this book, it was quick paced and different. Based in Austalia I’d never read about it or used a bit of there language. It stirred along well and the romance and action was fantastic, quit a fine book. I give it 5 stars just because it was different.

I like(d) this series. I ongoing reading it five years ago, and was hooked. I bought each book the second it came out.
Then came “Additional Side of Dawn”.
I was truly disappointed. This book had one of the hollowest endings I’d ever read–and I’m sorry I had to say that. Somehow, their friendship survived an entire year of Hell–excuse the pun–then crumbled so quickly, so unrealistically.
If you liked “‘Dawn”, fantastic. But I didn’t.
