If I could I would give this book ZERO STARS I WOULD!!! This is one of the worst tales I have every read. It was hard to read this book was the Hero Mentally Challenged, please tell what man doesn’t know his wife is not a virgin? After being jilted two time Vale the hero accepts a offer of marriage from Melisande the herione. On their wedding night Vales enters her bedchamber hoping he wont hurt her to much by taking her innocents, he lays on the bed lifes her nightgown, thrust into her once twice three times climaxes gets up leaves the room and thinks to himself that went better than he thought it hadn’t hurt her as much as he thought it would. It never occured to the Idiot that she wasn’t a virgin!!! Am I suppose to judge that an adult man that has been in the military a peer of the relm cant figure that out!!! I want my money back this was a horriable tale, dont waste your time buying this book. This was my first book by Ms Hoyt and my last!!!!!

I read THE LEOPARD PRINCE and was blown away, so when I had the chance to order a Large Print copy of this book from my library I was really excited.
Boy was I let down!
I know that many romance readers like the ancient-fashioned Regency hero, the kind who is permanently nursing a hangover and trading dry witticisms with his valet. But this Jasper guy bored me to tears! He is the most shallow, smug guy I have ever seen in a romance. And there is NO tie between his limp, dandified lifestyle and the supposed “trauma” of his combat experiences.
What makes it so harsh to read this book is not so much the plot, or even the characters, but the “humor” that is squeezed into every paragraph. It’s all stuff like, “Jasper chose his shiniest pair of boots, knowing that a man might murder orphans so long as he wore shiny boots to ride in the park.” Oh, that’s amusing, all right. Georgette Heyer, meet Groucho Marx!
The heroine was the usual unadorned, but loving, but determined type we’ve all met a thousand, million, zillion times before. That’s okay . . . but why would she fall for this yutz? I mean, there was a lame explanation, about his Compassion and Dark Secret, but the man we really SEE is about as seductive as a drunk flounder.
Elizabeth Hoyt, I reflect that LEOPARD PRINCE and RAVEN PRINCE were masterpieces that were really innovative. Please, please don’t try to write “traditional” Regencies like this. It is so ewwww!
This whole book just left me going, “WTF?”
It’s a Regency expression. It means, “What tremendous folly!”

I like Elizabeth Hoyt’s books but with this one, I don’t know. I bought it about two weeks ago or a small before two weeks but I must say and be really honest, i stopped reading after about 15 pages coz for some reason I just could not make myself read it and be into it which usually the case since I like to read. I am hoping that I will again pick up the book and continue reading it and really hoping that I can end it and see what the additional reviewers and readers are talking about. I will continue checking the reviews for this book then maybe someday and a name can just convince me to pick it up and end the book!

Off to a slow start but excellent end…
To Seduce A Sinner was entertaining after I got middle thru the book. I couldn’t choose for several chapters if I liked Elizabeth Hoyt’s characters. I establish Lord Vale’s personality unlikeable as he was first introduced in the book, and it took me several chapters to warm up to him.
I reflect this could have been due to the leader’s crude use of the English language that seemed to jump from one time period to another. She went from him language in very proper English to slipping into dialog that I would have expected to read in a modern day setting. The Melisande character was also slow to renovate into exactly what she was all about.
Regardless, once my feeling for the characters was customary, the book was able to keep my interest and delivered the right amount of romance and intrigue to keep me up late turning the pages. All in all, I would give this book a second read.

This is an incredible like tale. Ms. Hoyt developed the characters and even with flaws they are so lovable. This is one of persons tales that you read and don’t want to place the book down. I highly rec this book!
