I just received my copy of this book and with the words nutrition and health in the title, I assumed there would be excellent nutritional breakdowns for each recipe, you know the standard, proteins, fats, carbs, sugars etc.
Nothing!
Nada!
Zip!
Maybe the recipes are fantastic and I will try the ones that seem tasty.
But omitting these details is a major blunder and if I had more free time, I would return it in a heartbeat.
Inquiring minds want to KNOW.

Please know that the contents of this book are fantastic, but my take in ongoing falling apart nearly immediately, and I suspect the pages may soon follow. This is a real disappointment for a book I hope to delight in for years to come.

With no option to look inside this book, I ordered this item based on the glowing customer reviews. The book description says that it “includes” gluten-free, dairy-free and egg-free recipes. I own additional books that give alternatives for people with food sensitivities. What I didn’t expect was that there would be no normal recipes in the fresh bread and muffin section. ALL of the recipes in that section are gluten-free and call for unusual/expensive/hard-to-find ingredients such as teff flour, sorghum flour, buckwheat flour, amaranth flour, xanthan gum etc. This is all well and excellent if this is the kind of recipe you are looking for, but this does not fit my needs at all. Additional sections include a lot of soy/tempeh/tofu recipes which I do not eat.
All in all, a real disappointment. I will be returning this book.

This book is not unlike others of its kind. It is very informative about cooking whole foods i.e. nuts, seeds, beans, grains, legumes, and vegetables. Brilliant charts for time and amounts which are helpful. The recipes are varied and appealing and I reflect the variety is carefully plotted.

This is my very favorite cookbook! Every recipe I have tried has come out absolutely tasty! I like that the recipes are not just allergen-free versions of common recipes, but most of them are really new dishes. The recipes are simple to follow. They are also healthy! We have been GFCF for over a year now, so the ingredients called for are things I now keep in my kitchen. I would recommend this book to anyone with food sensitivities. I should also add that the information about food allergies is brilliant! It is very simple to know and covers the topic painstakingly lacking being too detailed.
