Product Description
The third masterful novel in King’s epic saga The Dark Tower. Roland, the Last Gunslinger, moves ever closer to the Dark Tower of his dreams and nightmares–as he crosses a desert of damnation in a macabre world that is a twisted mirror image of our own. “Gripping . . . compelling . . . King mesmerizes the reader”.–Chicago Sun-Times.

After reading the first book *(which was catastropha) and reading the second which was really excellent, I thought that the series is taking off, I was flawed, the third book is slow, and dull, you can see very well that Stephan king has no Thought what so ever where he is going to take that series
Nothing much is happening, and while the second book introduce some appealing thoughts, the third book just go to the ordinary adventure that you can find (And better written as well) in dragon lance series, or additional adventure books, also many thoughts that were in this book already appear in many king books,
reading reviews of manuy users on the fourth book, which some say is very dull
I guess this is where the adventure end for me..

I still like Roland and Jake, but Eddie and Susannah are annoying, stereotypical and shallow. It’s like- Susannah is black, a woman AND disabled, so of course she’s perfect, oh, and she and Eddie like one another so they must be deep, sensitive people. Also, King’s influences were a small too blatant- Eliot’s Wasteland was nearly pushed onto the reader, and the riddle game was a Tolkien copy.
And the cliffhanger? How do you THINK it’s going to be resolved? Is anyone really apprehensive that the first sentence of the next book is going to be, “Blaine the mono would have smiled, had he a mouth, as he correctly answered the last riddle, seconds before hurling Roland and his party to their deaths. The end.”

After the stunning inventiveness of the first two ‘Dark Tower’ books, Stephen King appears to be running out of inspiration and thoughts. There is nothing new in this book, with regard to characters, plots, or even the background. As a result, he appears to be throwing in lots of cliches borrowed from ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and ‘Peter Pan’. In the leader’s end-note, King basically admits that he didn’t know how to end this book, so he just did. The characters in the book also are now basically adage ‘Let’s get to the Dark Tower so that we can get this tiresome journey over with’ – I can’t agree with them more.

Stephen King keeps up the action and thickens the plot in this series that (it seems) he just cant end. i hope he does, but it’s not looking pretty for us Gunslinger fans.

It took a while for the book to reach me, it seemed like, and when I got it, it didn’t look like the “very excellent” quality that was tagged to it. I am now wishing I had looked for and/or bought a cheaper copy. Even though, I was pleased when I finally got the book. It’s worn, and looks like something I would be owning anyways. I just am worried to see what the “poor” quality would be like. The items should be tagged correctly with the quality. Additional than that, I like the book, and am glad that I bought it…except I got another book for a penny (+$3.99 shipping) and the quality was better. Oh well, still pleased with buy, I guess.
