If you are smart and want to feel a bit dummy or you are dummy and want to feel a bit smart – get this book. Otherwise don’t bother.

I like that this is a day by day calendar if you can figure out which week your in. My doctor (and every additional calendar)says I’m fourteen weeks, this says I’m in my 11th week. It’s frustrating to keep a journal when you don’t know where to place your information. If you follow the directions the weeks don’t match up. I then tried to place in the dates as I knew they were and it says I’ll be delivering 3 weeks earlier than what my OB thinks!!!

I bought this book in Mexico and I paid $40.00 dollars for the spanish version. I really reflect its worthless. 15 dollars is a excellent fee. It emphasizes on the anatomy and development of the baby, this is excellent and very appealing, but after the 20 week, prenatal psichology is an vital issue: how to communicate with your baby, and the leader says it is useless to talk with him/her or play composition on your belly, notwithstanding, researches have proved the opposite. One thing i liked are the small parts that talk about traditions of additional cultures, it reminds me a fantastic book of “The Body Shop” named “Mama Toto”. The phrases on the bottom of every page give you every day a smile.

I bought this book hoping for a pleasant way to track the pregnancy of our second child. It _does_ contain a fantastic deal of excellent information and I like having a place to track my moods, cravings, weight, etc. But, some of the advice, at least to a name who has done this before or has an IQ over 85, may seem patronizing. For instance, I hope most people already know not to eat RAW eggs and meat and that hot dogs contain non-meat additives. While I reflect the advice is sincerely meant to help you have the healthiest pregnancy possible, reminding me that “your health-concious behavior can support [critical] growth spurt periods” is annoying. I wish the leader had left stern voice of reason to my health care providers, or better yet had a small more confidence in her readers. I doubt very much that most pregnant mothers, particularly persons keeping a PREGNANCY JOURNAL, are not keenly aware of the tie between their lifestyle choices and the health of the baby growing inside of them.
Overall, this book has been very informative and only mildly offensive.

While it has some excellent information on fetal development, day by day, this journal is very rigid in it’s format– judging from the layout, I felt as though I’m supposed to write something every day. Also, you have to go to the due date, and number the days backwards with a calendar. I’m sorry, but I reflect I need something a small more free-form than that. Otherwise, I’m worried the first 30 days are going to look something like, “got sick again… tried like hell to choke down a piece of toast this morning.” I want something to write down my feelings about what’s going on with me, and that probably won’t be a day-to-day thing. As far as the information contained in this journal, it’s excellent info, but you can get it in a more exciting format in one of the million additional pregnancy books. One more thing – the font used in the journal is tiny & hard to read…. unless pregnancy has changed my eyesight, which is a whole additional theme.
