In many ways, The pH Miracle is reminiscent of an earlier generation of diet books. Much of the focus is on an intestinal cleansing program, followed by a diet that is 70 to 80 percent vegetables, coupled with a tremendous selection of supplements that authors Robert and Shelley Young recommend to everyone, no matter what their age, gender, or state of health.
The Youngs point their fingers at candida as a main culprit in the poor health of many people. Sorry to say, they back up their claims with only vague references, such as “a 1991 study” and “a leading cancer researcher.” Many readers may wish for more point evidence, but as a replacement for will have to make do with enthusiastic recommendations, alphabetized lists of vegetables, and pleasing chapters with vegetarian recipes that taste excellent no matter how you feel about the diet as a whole.
Sprinkled throughout the book are fleeting testimonials of people who were able to back cancer, improve their digestion, and lower their cholesterol by following these recommendations, and it’s hard to argue with the cholesterol-lowering results that a 70 percent vegetable diet will achieve. Still, the medical value of much else in the book remains hotly contested, and as permanently, it’s wise to check with your doctor before starting off in search of miracles. –Jill Lightner

All this might work wonderfully if you had time to do all this stuff and manage to work out how to eat exactly the way it says, but for persons of us in the real world, it’s more distress than it’s worth.

This is the WORST book that I’ve ever read!!!
The authors are COMPLETELY UNEDUCATED in the
fields of chemistry, science and medicine.
They advise their readers to DRINK HYDROGEN
PEROXIDE, which is a POISON and there is
NO ANTIDOTE for it after ingestion. It
will KILL the CELLS and lining of one’s
stomach and ALL OTHER ORGANS, just to name
a few of the serious health problems that
it will cause. ABSOLUTELY INSANE and really
IDIOTIC!!! DO NOT BUY this MISLEADING and
SO-CALLED LOUSY book. It’s a BIG WASTE of
your time and precious money!

No one says it better! Dr.Robert O. Young and his gorgeous wife, Shelley, not only are perfect examples of this life style, but they dedicated to helping others do the same!

I have read this book and I do not agree with it. Certainly eating vegetables is a excellent way to go and will help you lose weight- no doubt about it!
But, the leader cites acid as the cause of all of our ills and diseases. Let us take a excellent look at that. Ascorbic Acid, you know Vitamin C, which is said to be the closest thing to cure the common cold. Guess what that is an acid.
Linaus Pauling, a real doctor, not one that got his degree online at some school that he can not reveal, used to take up to 15,000 mgs a day of ascorbic acid (over 200 times what Centrum has). Did it kill him, no he lived into his nineties, over twenty years longer than the average man. So much for acid being terrible.
And the stomach what is that composed of? HCL, Hydrochloric acid, and if it did not, you would not be able to digest your food. Also that acid, destroys terrible bacteria, parasites and yeast.
In addition to this there are additional acids which we need to survive on, such as Amino Acids, which are in every protein you eat. Also I am sure you heard of Essential Fatty Acids, Omega 3’s. Scientists will tell you they are some of the best things to eat, and are essential to the body. Still reflect acids are terrible?
The bottom line is the authors credentials are dubious at best, and he should have stuck to what is right in his book. That is that vegetables are the best thing for you and will help you lose weight and get in excellent health!

I got caught up in the hype when I saw this on a TV talk show. I never really got into it. I reflect it’s too restrictive for nearly anyone to follow…Just east a moderly excellent diet and Exercise, Exercise, Exercise. Erect it into your lifestyle, talk a fleeting walk every day at work for your 15 minute break twice a day. go to the gym 3 days a week…don’t eat refined sugars, or animal fats (this includes cheese and milk)…there’s your diet plot..It worked for me!
