Product Description
As Seligman states in his new afterword for this edition, Teaching children optimism is more, I realized, than just correcting pessimism . . . It is the creation of a positive might, a sunny but levelheaded future-mindedness that can be deployed throughout life — not only to fight depression and to come back from failure, but also to be the foundation of success and energy.”

It’s a lot of “pie in the sky” and no real hard data/science. The book claims to have “real/hard data”, but when it is compared to a non-soft science meadow, its claims don’t hold water.
One my larger issue is if their program taught children to be optimistic, or just taught them to answer questions (their tests) optimistically. I.E. Giving the researchers the answers that they want to hear.
When raising a child you basically have to “try your best, and hope for the best”.

I thought the book was brilliant and well written. It’s a excellent book to read and learn from. The only draw back was in trying to impliment the program with your child. I establish it to be very hard and to some extent confusing. If I were a professional teacher and was used to preparing lesson plans it would have been simpler to gather the materials and present the information. I’m not a professional educator, but, and establish it to be at the limits of my ability to impliment the program. In fact, I’m still trying to figure how to present the program lacking much current success. If you have training at the college graduate level you may be able to pull the program together, but do not be surprised at the difficulty level.

This book was bought based on my father’s suggestion.
As I have a one year ancient he thought it was a fantastic tool to know and guide baby’s behaviours and to raise balanced children.
The many examples in the book help know how to better handle challenging situations and how to impnac positevely our children’s life. I am so glad I bought it and I will raccomend to all the ones that what their children to have the ost positive attitude in life.

I like Dr. Seligman’s theory on positive explanatory style. Parents read this book first and work it into your child’s daily life.
