Product Description
Donald Gazzaniga, diagnosed with congestive heart failure, was on a waiting list for a heart transplantthe only effective medical treatment. Urged by his doctor to keep his sodium intake down under 1,500-2,000 mg. a day, Don headed for the kitchen and went to work. Aware that cutting table salt from your diet is the barest beginning of a right low-sodium menu, Don devised recipes that were 70% lower in sodium than persons in additional low-sodium cookbooks. The result? Dons name was removed from the transplant list; his doctors judge that his diet played a significant role. The No-Salt, Lowest-Sodium Cookbook contains: Hundreds of excellent-tasting, simple-to-make recipesA 28-day low-sodium menu planner Advice on finding low-sodium prepared foods, eating in restaurants, etc. Accurate sodium content of every ingredient and of the total servings Substitutes for high-sodium flavorings, and information on additional taste-improving substances.

This is probably an individual concern, but I prefer a cookbook with pictures. I have noticed that most low sodium cookbooks have few (if any) illustrations. It might be silly, but some people want to see what the finished product should look like. Also, the absence of photographs made this cookbook as featureless as a low sodium diet.

After my recent heart attack, I’ve been trying to make changes in my diet, so I bought this one. Eek. Recipe after recipe fell flat on its face– near inedible stuff. Try the series of cookbooks from the American Heart Association as a replacement for.

Back in April or May I sent in a rate of 1 because I didn’t receive the used book I ordered. It was missed placed in the mail. When I contacted Mr. Don Gazzanga he went above and beyond to find me another book to replace the one I ordered. The recipes, No-Salt, Lowest-Sodium Cookbook are brilliant! Mr. Gazzanga is a man of his word and I recommend his book highly!!
Thank you Mr. Gazzanga for your wonderful book!!

I bought this with high expectations but have rarely used it. It has plenty of bread recipes but when it comes to comfort style, downhome food,,,,I just can’t find the ones that suit me or my family tree…we are not into the types of food you get at a heath food store or any of persons special grain type things like hummas, tofu,,etc…since he is very concerned about low stout,,,he puts applesauce as a replacement for of oil, and it has me trying to figure out how to place oil back in. If you are from the South,,these yankee type foods will not make you pleased…compotes, etc. There could be a much better cookbook written for the Southern taste…if you are not from the West or the South,,,you will probably like the food. There are also, a lot of errors in it..which you have to go to his website to make corrections in your book…too much distress for me…I want a book I can trust…
