It is extraordinary how simple and yet how powerful mindfulness is, and its healing effects are finally being realized. This is a scholarly book, well worth reading. If you want to learn more about mindfulness, I also recommend ‘The Path of Mindfulness Meditation’, available through Amazon.

This leader does a marvelous job of translating the teachings of The Buddha into practical psychological insights that we can all use for our personal transformation. Dr. Siegel is clearly a knowledgeable Dharma practitioner. He delivers insight through this book in a smart, readable style that gave me some out-loud laughs as a bonus. The text is peppered with tales and descriptions that illustrate some particularly devious concepts with lively clarity. I absolutely loved the chapter on “Mindfulness and Intimate Relationships.”
I have read a lot of books on the topic of applied mindfulness. I HIGHLY recommend this one for it’s wisdom, both inspiring and practical.

Very excellent book for beginning mindfulness. It covers a lot of useful meditations and practical advice for everyday issues that we all face. I establish the chapters on anxiety and dread to be some of the most helpful I have ever read. I also recommend The Heart of The Buddha’s Teaching by Thich Nhat Hahn. [...]
