Kornheiser claims he never yelled at a desk clerk in real life and that this book has strained his relationship with John “Junior” Feinstein.

I’ve liked most of Feinstein’s tales, especially A Excellent Walk Spoiled, but this book doesn’t compare. And I can’t judge he got away with pulling from another book. Obviously the writer was under pressure to perform. There was a book a couple years ago that reminded me of this one, Jeff Schneider’s book about the mob getting to a player to throw the Final Four. The Fix, I reflect. Seemed a lot like this one. But just because I didn’t like it doesn’t mean he won’t produce another excellent one. Feinstein is a excellent writer, but maybe not in the fiction genre yet.

When I heard about this book it sounded very familiar to one written a couple years ago called The Fix. I’m not adage the leader plagarized, but his tale was a takeoff of The Fix, a tale about the Mafia fitting the Final Four. Anyhow, he needs to stick with writing non-fiction. His fiction skills are shallow. He did a fantastic job with Season on the Brink, but this book doesn’t come close to a excellent read.
