An original hardcover graphic novel that tells the tale of one very dark night in Gotham City–from the creative team behind the graphic novel Lex Luthor: Man of Steel.
The Comic has been mysteriously unrestricted from Arkham Asylum, and he’s none to pleased about what’s happened to his Gotham City rackets while he’s been “away.” What follows is a upsetting night of revenge, murder and manic crime as only The Comic can deliver it, as he cruelly takes back his stolen assets from The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face, Killer Croc and others.
Brian Azzarello brings to The Comic all the visceral intensity and criminal insight that has made his Vertigo graphic novel series 100 Bullets one of the most critically-acclaimed and award-winning series in all of comics.

This book about the Comic is certainly NOT what you want to buy if you loved the movie The Dark Knight. The Comic in this book is neither scary or appealing. The drawings are stupid. Despise it. Absolutely despise it. I threw it in the garbadge. Thanks for nothing.

Is this a joke? Read Brian’s work elsewhere, reread Killing Joke or Death in the Family tree. This comic sucks and you are not a terrible person for thinking this is so. Your a terrible person for laughing at “the disappearing pencil” trick.

this graphic novel is not at all faithful to the Comic we know and like, this is the Comic from “The Dark Knight”, and frankly they should have marketed this as a graphic novel with ties to the film as a replacement for to the batman series. I despise how they drastically changed the characters (except Batman). Killer Croc was a monster who acted a lot like a crocodile, but here he’s a petty gangsta, the same as the Comic, the Comic in this tale is a gang leader who has clear intentional motives, the Comic we all know in comic books is a remorseless evil creature lacking a motive in why he does the things he does, but this Comic is unfunny and unlikable unlike the original one, don’t buy this, you’ll be disappointed with this, uninteresting plot which is narrated by a uninteresting narrator, who you won’t care about or see again in the series.

Once more let us pop our well-worn (and trademarked) villains into the microwave and prep them for YET ANOTHER “take”…it sure beats having to make something new. Yet another character beaten into a pulp by constant “re-imagining”.

If you thought the Dark Knight movie was better than anything in the comics and the Heath Ledger Comic was the definative Comic then this is for you.
If not, then avoid this like the plague.
Don’t get me incorrect, the movies are excellent. But trying to place that back into a comic doesn’t make much sense. Place it on the screen.
