i’ve read this book, and i reflect it gave a (a small bit) theoritical & practical explanation about what interpersonal comm. is. i suggest my students to keep this book to enrich their knowledge about this topic.but, i need something more than this, and i really want to have a holistic explanation about this topic (what paradigm/perspectives/approach you take to clarify the whole aspect about it). i hope i can delight in your next edition (i’ve ever buy it (the last edition, but it lost when i left the texas airport). i’m looking forwards to the next article/journals/books about interpersonal comm. thank you very much

The book (Interpersonal communication) came to me lacking the CD (MyCommunicationLab Series) as it was published which you can see for yourself above. So, I received an incomplete item though the book was clean with few markings.
My advice is that books should be sold to buyers with all the items published along with it to avoid problems with the users (students).

I can’t give a perfect review because I still haven’t finished the book, I am using it as part of my studies. But I can give you a review on Amazon. The service was fantastic, especially shipping it over here to Australia. I would recommend Amazon to anyone who wanted to buy second hand books in excellent condition

Many college students go to school filled with the thought that they will learn the subjects they chose to study. No one tells them that the most vital thing in their life is going to be the ability to communicate. Even Einstein with all of his brilliance worked at a low level in the Swiss patent office until he published his legendary papers.
Study after study shows that after college communications: be it written, oral and interpersonal communications is the most vital thing in the minds of recruiters, teachers, and of course the additional gender. While we all know how to talk, write and reflect we can communicate, there are basic rules about communicating that will improve our abilities.
This book is now in its eleventh edition. It continues to be better polished based on feedback from users. It reflects the latest research to report on the best theories we have on communications. Finally, this book discusses the American culture. Culture provides the common basis we have in order to be able to communicate at all.

I read through this book as part of an Interpersonal Communication class I took. I’ll admit right off the bat that I have a biased view about the book because I read it in a class where I was the only person over 21 in a room full of freshman. With that said, I’m really glad I had the life experiences I’ve had to protect me from the leftists propaganda contained within. I’m also very thankful that I was never forced to read such dribble when I was a freshman in college because it can really mess you up. Most of the book is based in and upon interpersonal communication theory and there isn’t a whole lot of practical information agreed. Not only that, but the book nearly really ignores the moral and ethical issues that are inherently apparent in interpersonal communication. As a replacement for, the leader has taken a humanistic (and honestly Machiavellian) approach and illustrates the power that excellent interpersonal communication skills can give a person. The book does have some excellent things to say, but overall it’s more of a tool in brainwashing freshmen with useless knowledge than anything else. There’s a lot of theory, but not much substance.
