Like many of you, i am VERY visual. I utterly judge a book by its take in. By looking at the take in of this book i had no thought what it was, none , zip. The huge print in the title says nothing about actual content. And because nudes or athletics do not interest me in any form, i just passed over this book . It was not until i saw it again on Amazon that i realized it was a photographic advice type book. If i had known, i might have bought it. But i rebel against ambiguity in publishing: i want printed matter to be clear. So publishers and authors, it is just something to reflect about.I am sure that i am not the only one who makes flash judgements…

Yesterday I just finished an intensive hands on, real, on set, training workshop with Joe and models on a windy rocky beach and it was worth every penny. I questioned him if his groundbreaking new book, “Hot Shoe Dairies” he’d mentioned was a “how to” book and he said it was a few hundred pages of exactly what we worked on only more in depth and the result of years of mastering the tiny portable flash. So if the book is even half of what we learned it is worth twice the fee. The Nikon creative lighting system is incredible and has NO EQUAL. I will order as soon as I end this. Jock Goodman

I was very disappointed in this book. While it does offer some suggestions about using hot shoe flashes it is geared mainly to Nikon users. It does not go into enough detail about flash settings, how to remotely trigger flashes etc. I would not recommend it.

Sorry this is not the type of book i was looking for. A Mate said it got excellent reports, I have the Nikon videos which some of the book is refering to..

In the leader’s own words, he says that his wife thinks he jumps from one topic to another, etc. His writing style is so annoying, I cannot & will not read this book. I usually take a book out from my local library, and if I like it, then I head to Amazon and order it. This will not take place here. If Amazon allowed a ZERO-star rating, I would give it to this book!
