Product Description
Scott Kelby, leader of The Digital Photography Book, volume 1 (the world’s best-selling digital photography book of all time), is back with a follow-up to his volume 2 smash best seller, with an entirely new book that picks up right where he left off. It’s even more of that “Ah ha—so that’s how they do it,” straight-to-the-point, skip-the-techno-jargon stuff you can really use today to make your shots even better.
This book truly has a brilliant premise, and here’s how Scott describes it: “If you and I were out on a shoot and you questioned me, ‘Hey Scott, I want the light for this portrait to look really soft and satisfying. How far back should I place this softbox?’ I wouldn’t give you a address about lighting ratios, or flash modifiers. In real life, I’d just turn to you and say, ‘Go it in as close to your theme as you possibly can, lacking it really showing up in the shot.’ Well, that’s what this book is all about: you and I out shooting where I answer questions, give you advice, and share the secrets I’ve learned, just like I would with a friend—lacking all the technical explanations and techie photo speak.”
Each page covers a single concept on how to make your photography better. Every time you turn the page, you’ll learn another pro setting, tool, or trick to transform your work from snapshots into gallery prints. If you’re tired of taking shots that look “okay,” and if you’re tired of looking in photography magazines and thinking, “Why don’t my shots look like that?” then this is the book for you.
This isn’t a book of theory—full of confusing jargon and detailed concepts. This is a book on which button to push, which setting to use, and when to use it. With nearly 200 more of the most closely guarded photographic “tricks of the trade,” this book gets you shooting dramatically better-looking, sharper, more colorful, more professional-looking photos every time.

Was rather disappointed witn this book. Expected more details for a name who has been a amateur photographer for 50 years, even though I haven’t had any experince of digital camera untill 3-4 years ago. I don’t have much experience of computer, got my first only a year ago.

My brother is starting photography school in January and I thought this would be a excellent reference book for him. I bought because it says “Volume 3″ believing it to be the most evolved edition. As a replacement for, the first chapter tells you to jump back in the car and buy the previous volumes. It was such a disappointment when he opened it during our family tree Christmas party last Saturday and questioned if I knew where he could buy the first two. I wanted to give him something he could use, not something he’d have to go back to the store and buy.

I have all three in this series. And, I am also a beginner. The third book is for the more serious photographer. The book is very appealing, but I don’t reflect I will be referring to it as much as the first two books.

This book picks up right where the first two left off. More brilliant advice for taking many different kinds of shots. I highly recommend it.
