As a new RVer, I was hoping to get some quality advice from an veteran pro. Sorry to say, most of the advice is either common sense (you can’t drive an RV like a sports car) or overly generalized (an anti-sway contrivance will help your trailer track straight) with small truly useful information.

As a newbie to the world of RVing, I was appalled at the limited amount of useful information in this book. This leader spends WAY too much time building retarded jokes every additional sentence as a replacement for of getting to the point and providing useful information. The terrible part is that he’s not even amusing. I establish myself rolling my eyes heavenward with every turn of the page. There are bits and pieces of useful information here and there, but not enough to warrant anyone buying this book. A person more versed in RVing will be insulted at the lack of information and a newbie like me won’t get enough useful information to feel comfortable operating an RV for the first time. As a personal note to the leader…if you ever update this book again, place your ridiculous “sense of humor” in the trash where it belongs and write a serious book that will be useful to the proposed audience. Spend your money elsewhere folks. There are better resources out there than this!

I am getting ready to buy my first RV, and was highly disappointed in this book. You can get the info in it within minutes from any reputable RV dealer. This is not a book I will be hanging onto.

I’m considering buying a pop-up. My library had “The Everything Family tree Guide” and “The perfect book of Boondock”. I learned a bit from both books. “Boondock” devotes about half of its part to RV electrical systems. I may need to study it more at some point, but it really place me to sleep now. Glad it is there as a reference, but not sure it will help a lot of us. I’ll study it and stay awake if I ever choose to spend 3+ nights in the boondocks.
The Perfect Idiot’s Guide has very mixed reviews here, but I needed more than I had from the additional two books so I took a chance and bought it. I am very glad I did! Yes, it is written in a chatty style, but it does not require that you slog through a vaudeville routine to get the info you want. It is way more helpful than the additional two books. I learned a lot, including some things that will save me a lot of money and distress. This book left me feeling comfortable about buying an RV. I doubt it will help an veteran RV’er, but it is a real help for us newbies!

This was a excellent read for my spouse and I when we first set out fulltiming at the age of 25! Sure there is the ‘cute humor’ which seems to be present in many of the Perfect Idiots Guides, but we didn’t mind:-)
