I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and language with Ted on a few different occasions while I was at AOL and when I worked for the Capitals, and am a regular reader of his blog. When he started language about his book project I couldn’t wait to read it. He certainly didn’t disappoint. The first half of the book is about his own experiences and accomplishments and how he has figured out what it means to be truly pleased in life. The second half is about the six tenets he believes need to be present in your life to be pleased. These tenets come from the experience he has gained over his lifetime. They are simple yet extremely powerful. It’s an simple read which will empower and excite you to start your path to happiness now. I am truly grateful to have read it and it’s easily the best book I have read in recent years. I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

The book is well written and perfectly paced. It captures an inspiring and right success tale full of vital “twists.” Mr. Leonsis provides what most business reads lack; a balanced formula for both professional and personal satisfaction. Place this on your “Must Read” list.

Fantastic book for all of us from modest means hoping for something better and the realization of the American dream. Ted permanently was an inspiration to persons of us at AOL in the fact that with hard work, fantastic intuition, and luck, that all things could be possible. He also remained very approachable with a kind word to say or joke despite not needing to be as generous with his time and attention as he permanently showed. While material wealth can ease the way into happiness – the right message (and meaning) of happiness is something much simpler, yet vastly more precious than what can be earned on a W-2. Thanks for sharing such a personal guide and helping us ground our perspectives. A excellent read from a name who has been able to “walk the walk”, not just talk about it! Bless you Ted!

His list of 101 goals that he felt would lead him to happiness led to an identification of six habits key to success – habits any businessperson needs to adopt.

I had glimpses of Ted Leonsis as an online lead the way and entrepreneur during the time he was leading and building AOL. It was under his three-year tutelage that AOL and the online industry exploded. He possessed a larger-than-life spirit and energy, brevity and sincerity. This book captured something in him which I feel is very tangible expression of persons qualities I experimental and which he obviously still possesses. Personally, it seemed like one of the fantastic like letters and tributes to a wife, which I also deeply admired. Ted’s “List” was legend around AOL in persons days, mid-90’s and he really leveraged that experience and the List for making a greater excellent – for himself and issues more serious than apt a wealthily rewarded entrepreneur. Highly recommend this book as a living history of a equipment lead the way and visionary who helped make an entirely new industry which stirred humanity into the Information Age – combined with a lovely tribute to basic virtures in life of character, philanthropy, empathy and Joie de Vivre.
