But as Haller prepares for the case that could launch him into the huge time, he learns that Vincent’s killer may be coming for him next.

I quit after 8 chapters. What I reflect are ridiculous:
Lawyer’s assistant is ex-wife,
Misses a street take up, and wants to hire a driver,
Owns 3 identical Lincolns,
Leaves courtroom with one case file to make call, and leaves others on the bench!

Books a bore . All of these reviewers must have been hired by Connelly .

This was my first Michael Connelly novel, and after reading it, I can’t know why people like this leader. I read this after reading “Shadows Still Remain”, by Peter De Jonge, which was absolutely GREAT by comparison. Brass Verdict is 95% about the minutiae of a defense attorney’s day to day activities as he develops strategy for a couple of cases. Harry Bosch is a cardboard figure. I don’t get it. Perhaps this is not a excellent choice for an introduction to Michael Connelly.

The book should be called “Redundancy”. pg. 26 “I had never met Judge holder before” pg. 27 “I don’t judge we have met before, have we?” pg. 46 “I was sure I had never met the man before.” Who proof reads these books? I may or may not go on to page 47.

I’ve read all of Connelly’s “Harry Bosch” novels and painstakingly loved them. The novel “The Lincoln Lawyer” was also pretty excellent with the lead character Mickey Haller. So when I read that the current book had Harry & Mickey effective together, I looked forwards to reading it too with much anticipation. I read it and was very disappointed. Harry pops up only incidentally for about 2% of the tale (tiny “cameo” appearances). The main tale is tedious with subplots that don’t work too well (esp. the subplot about his darn daughter). I reflect Connelly hit a lull with this current effort. Hopefully, he’ll snap back.
