This is an brilliant book for anyone who is thinking about rearing children. The authors clarify how what happens to children as infants affects how their brain develops! If you want to be an brilliant parent read this book!!! If you work with young children, READ THIS BOOK!!!! If you suffered abuse as a child, READ THIS BOOK!!!!!! It will give you so much insight. Besides that, the main leader writes with so much positive regard that it really (at least for me) gets transmitted through the pages. It touched me very deeply and I felt healing happening inside of me while reading.

This book is fantastic! I’m reading it for a Masters level class I’m taking on trauma in children. The authors tales and how they marry them with the social sciences [psychology, psychiatry, biology, etc] is gorgeous. Makes learning and applying the knowledge from lectures and additional text books all come together. This book provides humble and quintessential application of everything I’m learning. A honestly simple read i.e., not too technical. I highly recommend to anyone effective with children [or adults] in trauma. Opens your eyes to the gift of relational therapy and hope.
