Product Description
It’s just a tiny tale really, about among additional things: a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and reasonably a lot of thievery. . . .
Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak’s groundbreaking new novel is the tale of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager being for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can’t resist–books. With the help of her accordion-playing foster father, she learns to read and shares her stolen books with her neighbors during bombing raids as well as with the Jewish man hidden in her basement before he is marched to Dachau.
This is an unforgettable tale about the ability of books to feed the soul.

I ordered this book 0n Dec 20Th. I still have not recieved it. I contacted them on Jan 13Th & they said they would send me another copy as the first must have gotten lost in the mail. Here it is Jan 30Th & I am still waiting for it to arrive. I will not use this buyer in the future. I E-Mailed them to say if I did not have the book by the end of this week I wanted a refund. I got no response to that E-Mail.

I do not care for this book at all. I had read such excellent reviews but it is really weird and moves very slowly. I would not recommend it.

This is poor writing, especially for young adults, I find it hard to judge that this book was understood by anyone, especially the Newberry people.
