My dad gave me this book for Christmas, after I saw it in his bookstore and bugged him for a copy. I want to have a large chunk of land to homestead on, but can’t afford the go yet. I thought there was no way I could homestead on our 1 acre of land, but this book showed me that an acre is really enough for a pretty excellent start! After reading this book, I am preparation a garden this year, along with some chickens and a goat. Hopefully in the next couple of years, we will be growing enough food for our whole family tree! I would recommend this book for anyone who wants to take a huge step towards self capability. It covers all the basics of growing and preserving your own food. It has been an invaluable reference to my family tree and I when preparation our new backyard homestead!
