With the basic principle that creative expression is the natural direction of life, Julia Cameron and Mark Bryan lead you through a comprehensive twelve-week program to recover your creativity from a variety of blocks, including limiting beliefs, dread, self-sabotage, jealousy, guilt, addictions, and additional inhibiting forces, replacing them with artistic confidence and productivity.
This book links creativity to spirituality by showing how to connect with the creative energies of the universe, and has, in the four years since its publication, spawned a remarkable number of support groups for artists dedicated to practicing the exercises it contains.

It should be noted that all the fantastic creative geniuses ever acknowledged certainly lived a self-serving lifestyle. Thank god or whomever that they did.

New age mumble muddle. If you want to become more creative as a person don’t read this book. You can do it by getting up off of the sofa and turning off your television. “drawing on the right side of the brain” is the only book you’ll ever need for creative guidance.

I cannot give a perfect review due to the fact that I have not read the book all the way through yet. I first started reading this book in 1993 as part of a course I took in college. I felt something strong towards it nearly from the very beginning, but did not perfect the reading or the morning pages.
Due to many changes I have veteran in my life lately I chose to pick up the book again. I reflect the book is fantastic, but I have not gotten to the fantastic stuff yet, if that makes sense. I am about half way through the book, I am doing the morning pages, have not ongoing the artist dates yet, but I have some questions and want to know if there is an email take up to contact the leader.
Sincerely,
Dawn Dewar

I really wanted a Christian book and was encouraged by persons that complained about that element. The leader really says god can be whatever you want to call it and gives a variety of examples. That aside, it is really just common sense suggestions such as setting aside time to meditate daily through writing as well as setting aside time weekly to practice your craft whether it is writing, painting or acting. Excellent suggestions but nothing new.
