I would dearly like to review this book, but it hasn’t arrived. Although Amazon’s Where’s My Stuff page said that there is no outstanding orders, the time estimate said it should arrive (New Zealand) between 4 Sept – 14 Sept, so I waited. The shipment was sent 14 August. I have requested help through Support, but haven’t heard at all from Amazon. Generally, I have establish Amazon very prompt, and manner of language (International Standard) very excellent – about 2- 3 weeks. I hope that I will hear soon. Better, I’d like to post a more positive review for this book (and the additional that was shipped with it).

Varying your sentence styles can make flat writing come alive. It’s simple to fall into the rut of theme, verb, theme, verb. Flipping these things around, adding descriptors; it all makes for more appealing prose. This is a real nuts-and-bolts book with lots of exercises to improve your writing. But I took away a excellent appreciation for the need to vary style as I write. Many people will likely read this book as part of a writing class. But I selected it up simply looking for ways to improve my prose style.

This is an essential reference for anyone who wants to improve the quality of their writting. The reader is agreed thorough instruction on how to construct better sentences block by block; each sentence pattern is illustrated by simple to know grammitacal symbols and examples, both professional and generic, are agreed to demonstrate the use of the pattern. By far, this is my most utilized book on grammar and syntax; it’s certainly indespensable. Doubtless, every high school and college student should have this reference book not in their library but in their backpack’s at all times.
P.S.
To further apprehend how fantastic writting looks and reads, I suggest reading any of Gore Vidal’s works or any fantastic writers for that matter; Creation was his personal recommendation on a number of interviews.

If you apply the patterns agreed in this book, you will be producing right writing: one which automatically will be conforming to syntax and punctuation rules. You will no longer need to learn or remember when the comma, semicolon, colon, etc. have to be used, because most of their uses are already incorporated in the patterns. In the same way, you will no longer have to remember where the theme, the direct object, etc. go, because the patterns give most of the allowed positions. Furthermore, combining these 20 patterns will give more than acceptable variety to your writing.
Also, learning these patterns will give you a new view of grammar, and will let you get more benefits from studying it.
In brief, this is a 100% productive book.
There is a fact thay annoyes me: there are at Amazon two books, one by K.D. Sullivan , and the additional by Marie L. Waddell, M. Esch Roberta R. Walker. Everyone expects that these books, because they have different authors, are completely different, even sharing the same title; but they are exactly the same book, letter by letter. How is this possible? Who is the real leader? Can anyone clarify to me?
