From the front take in: Drink Fresh Juices, Eat Real Food, and Get Back into Your Emaciated Jeans.
The book is divided into 2 sections. The first section describes why we need cleanses – the quality of the food we eat, the toxins that surround us, how our digestive system works, and the benefits of fasting and cleansing. It goes on to clarify the 3 types of cleanses the authors recommend and how to prepare for them. It details the recommended food intake in the days leading up to the cleanse and the products you’ll need (like a excellent juicer), as well as the foods you’ll buy (organic of course), the benefits of the ingredients in the juices, the actual cleanse, and the follow up after the cleanse. There’s no point in going through the distress of ridding your body of the toxins, if you’re going to start back up with the unhealthy habits again. Right? They don’t place anything out. All of your questions are answered. I promise.
The 2nd part includes the recipes. And they are YUMMY! Seriously. From soups to salads, dressings to food and drink, and the main part – the juices.
This book really promotes a lifestyle change. The cleanse isn’t a one-time thing. You’ll end up repeating at least a part of it on a weekly basis. But, what you won’t get is the horrible side effects from the additional cleanses which are just too extreme for the average person. Am I ready to try it? The truth? No. You’ve really got to be committed, and I’m not at that point yet. Do I judge in it? Absolutely! Cleanses work. You just need to find the right one for YOU. I can see this one being that “right one”. Just not yet.

I like Blueprint Juices and was so excited to get this book, but when I ongoing reading I was disappointed. While the juice recipes in the last 10 pages are wonderful I could have done lacking the lacto-vegetarian preaching.

Spring is traditionally the time for cleaning and renewal. And what better way to renew then to clean out your internal “plumbing?” The 3-Day Cleanse by BluePrintCleanse founders’ Zoe Sakoutis and Erica Huss provides all the information you need to purge the toxins from your body. The book includes three different levels of Cleanses: Renovation (the Gateway Cleanse); the Foundation Cleanse (the Intermediate Cleanse); and the Excavation Cleanse (the most Intense Cleanse).
The Cleanse is not a quick, but rather is a juice based program that safely provides the necessary nutrients during the cleansing period. As the authors clarify:
The 3-Day Cleanse is not about self-denial. We both have a fantastic appreciation for the pleasures of excellent food. That’s why our juices and the recipes we provide are, dare we say, tasty. Just question anyone. The fruit juices are sweet yet have no added sugar, the vegetable juices taste so fresh you’d swear you were eating veggies in the middle of a farmer’s market and out nut milks have been compared to ice cream and additional desserts – that’s how excellent they are!
Looking over the recipes I agree that the juices and nut milks sound yummy! For example, some of the juices are named: Blackberry-Peach; Blueberry-Apple-Vanilla; Mango-Strawberry; Orange-Pomegranate and Vanilla-Banana-Cinnamon. Based on the ingredients the only juices that did not appeal to me were two of the green juices which called for spinach and kale.
Contrary to the take in aver about getting back into your emaciated jeans, the Cleanse is also not a weight loss program. The authors readily admit that they did not count calories when developing the juices, but add that “you may lose a few pounds.” Later, but, the authors note that the highest calorie Cleanse, the Renovation, only has about 1200 calories, so it would follow that most people would shed a few pounds on the Cleanse. Still the primary objective of the Cleanse is for health purposes rather than weight loss.
The only caveat I would add to what appears to be an otherwise terrific program for renewal and renovation is that building your own juices may be unworkable for persons who work outside of the house. According, to the authors the juices should be drunk immediately as the enzymes rapidly loss their potency. Still the Cleanse could be done on a long weekend or alternatively, specially processed juices are available for sale at the leader’s BluePrintCleanse website.
The 3-Day Cleanse is the natural way to renew your body!

mythoughts
In my mind (read world) the word cleanse equates to fasting. While I am all for fasting for religious or Spiritual purposes…choosing to not have food just because I want to look excellent…well, not in my realm of thought. The word cleanse sends shivers down my spine because it means…NO FOOD! Or…at least that is what I have been led to judge.
Along comes The 3-Day Cleanse and it has changed my mind, a bit. I still am not tickled over any “cleanse” routines but this one…I am willing to give a chance. Why? Because it seems simple, you can drink enjoyable juices and you are not stuck eating Cayenne peppers and lemon…anyone with me?
I know that there are a lot of Toxins in our bodies just from normal living. They can affect our moods, personalities, energy and spirit if we place them alone.
The Blueprint Cleanse is a fantastic concept that is built around drinking fresh vegetable and fruit juices (I can do that!). You can start with 1-day on the cleanse and erect your way up to the 14-day cleanse routine. It seem effortless. You change your juices based on the level of cleanse you choose.
There is a “Symptom” chart in the book that allows you to track the changes your body may go through as you participate in the cleanse. Each symptom has a description, a normal or not normal box and a comment as to why this may be happening and what you can do to rectify, alter or accept the symptom. I especially like this chart…being a “Type A” personality means I not only want to be in charge of everything…I want to know why my body is doing it!
At the back of the 3-Day Cleanse there is array of fantastic recipes. Recipes that include Roasted Red Pepper Soup and Salsa Salad. I thought I’d never say these words…but….I am ready for cleanse!
