tres„pass \’trespes\ n: a misconduct of law involving one’s obligations to God or to one’s national; a violation of moral law; an offense; a sin -Webster’s New International Glossary, Second Edition, Unabridged
In what may be her most unsettling novel to date, Sue Grafton’s T is for Trespass is also her most direct confrontation with the forces of evil. Beginning slowly with the day-to-day life of a private eye, Grafton suddenly shifts from the voice of Kinsey Millhone to that of Solana Rojas, introducing readers to a chilling sociopath. Rojas is not her birth name. It is an identity she cunningly stole, an identity that gives her access to private caregiving jobs. The right horror of the novel builds with excruciating tension as the reader foresees the awfulness that lies yet to be. The suspense lies in whether Millhone will realize what is happening in time to intervene.
Though set in the late eighties, T is for Trespass could not be more topical: identity theft; elder abuse; treachery of trust; the breakdown in the institutions charged with caring for the weak and the dependent. It reveals a terrifying but all-too-real rip in the social fabric. Once again, Grafton opens up new territory with startling results.

Stopped reading Sue Grafton novels after L. Find the charecter to be dull. Only ongoing reading this one because my sister gave it to me, and I establish I just couldn’t get into the tale. Don’t really care to read a novel that’s supposed to take place in 1987. Who cares.

This book was fantastic. I am a huge fan of Grafton, and can hardly wait for the next book in this series. Even though she is in 1987 this issue is very real in todays world. I adore Henry and hope she can keep him around till the end of the series. All in all a excellent read, I sat up on many nights reading one more chapter.

I have read every one of Sue Grafton’s Kinsey Milhone books and have loved each one tremendously, even this T for Trespass. I, too, wanted to place the book down after the first chapter, but in my heart I knew the content was for the times that we live in. This is the real world as Sue Grafton depicted in this book. There are people out there just like Gus and Sonja. I have never met a “Kinsey” but I pray there is one out there in America. Sue Grafton has kept Kinsey the same from the first book to this last one. She does not need to progress, it is a fictional book! She can remain 32 years ancient if that is what the character needs. I finished the book and was not overjoyed with it, but at the same time, I knew that this information needs to be addressed. I look forwards to the next book and will read it because I want to escape into Kinsey’s world through Sue Grafton. Thank you Sue Grafton for your hard work and increasing desire to place real day to day happenings into fictional work. And, do You,
Sue Grafton, eat peanut butter and sweet pickles on a sandwich?

Now I know why I’ve stopped reading these books. I like it when people age, Anna Piegon has aged very kindly from her 30’s in Track of the Cat to 50 something in Winter Study. Even the wonderful Stephanie Plum is aging. If you delight in reading that’s stuck in a decade and the characters have learned a “fountain of youth” this is the book for you, if you don’t, like me, try something else.

At first I thought “oh well, another Camel Club book,” but I do like Baldacci, so I carried on, and it turned out to be one of the best. Painstakingly loved the entire book. A excellent read for anyone who enjoys intrigue and a bit of a weep as well!
