Product Description
Knitting and life.
They’re both about beginnings—and endings. That’s why Lydia Goetz, owner of A Excellent Yarn on Seattle’s Blossom Street, offers a class called Knit to Quit. It’s for people who want to quit something—or a name!—and start a new phase of their lives.
First to join is Phoebe Rylander, who’s trying to get over a man. Alix Turner and her spouse want a baby, so she has to quit smoking. And Bryan Hutchinson needs a way to deal with the stress of running his family tree’s business.
Then there’s Lydia’s friend Anne Marie Roche. She and her adopted daughter, Ellen, have finally settled into a secure and pleased routine—when a weirder appears asking questions.
Meanwhile, Lydia and her spouse, Brad, have their hands full with the mad, defiant twelve-year-ancient who unexpectedly becomes their foster child….
But when your life—and your stitches—get snarled, your friends can permanently help!

In Seattle at the Blossom Street yarn store, A Excellent Yarn, owner Lydia feels fantastic about overcoming cancer for the second time. To celebrate and to bring in new clients she and her sister Margaret choose to start a new group “Knit to Quit”. But, Lydia also notices her sibling is extremely careful with her words, but Lydia expects that will pass soon enough.
Lydia and her spouse Brad chat about adopting an infant. In the interim, Lydia allows twelve year ancient Casey to go into her home with tom’s agreement. The baker Alix wants a baby too, but her spouse Pastor Jordon demands she give up smoking first so she considers joining the new class. At the advice of his doctor who is apprehensive that chocolate CEO Hutch will suffer a stroke or heart attack if he does not slow down, he joins the group. Finally concerned bookstore owner Ann Marie needs a stress releaser so she also attends Knit to Quit so she can get away from the demands of her adopted daughter’s biological father, a recovering addict, wanting to see her child.
The latest Blossom Street tale is an engaging entry due to a strong cast struggling with issues and traumas. The multiple subplots are all engaging and tie together at the Knit to Quit group. Fans will delight in this warm SUMMER ON BLOSSOM STREET as Debbie Macomber stitches a multifaceted excellent yarn.

The tale line for this book is tired and sounds very much like the same thing that Kate Jacobs wrote about in her latest book Knit Two for the Friday night knitting club series. Life rarely gets fixed so perfectly by a bunch of women sitting around knitting and sipping tea. Macomber needs to start thinking outside the box for future tale lines because her characters are starting to become very one note.
