Recipes look pretty excellent, but I haven’t tried them yet because ingredients are extremely expensive and had to find. I agree it is best to eat small or no sugar – but, the costs invoved with these recipes may prohibit many for building use of this book.
I have ordered in tiny quantites most all ingredients just to try the recipes. But, I have grown boys that can easily wipe out a batch of cookies or candy in a day – two at the most. I would never be able to afford the ingredients to keep them fed!
Sugar free and gluten free does not have to be this expensive. Gluten free flours are expensive enough – and for my household – a necessity.
I would not recommend this book to anyone who was feeding more than one person!

I read through this book a couple times hoping there was a recipe I could try out. The recipes all seem to call for unusual and expensive ingredients. The leader recognizes this and suggests that two friends chip in together to buy ingredients and bake together. That’s way too intricate for me. The book also is oddly worded in places. Not fatal, but to some extent distracting. I just wanted to bake a small in excellent health. But, a name who truly needs gluten and sugar-free food might be willing to go to the effort.

I feel like this book should have been a “free gift with buy of Turn sharply and Stevia”. As far as I can tell, every single recipe uses either Turn sharply, Zsweet, or some form of flavored Stevia. Sometimes they call for more than one! All of these sweeteners are very expensive, and are very hard to find. (I’ve never been able to find liquid Stevia, though I stopped trying some time ago as I can’t stand the stuff).
If you are a diabetic (or are concerned with glycemic pointer) and are looking for something additional than highly processed artificial compound sweeteners to cook with, this book may be helpful for you. (but, I’m not sure if I agree that Turn sharply isn’t highly processed…)
But if you are looking to bake with less refined, less expensive sweeteners, I suggest finding a different book that uses honey, maple syrup, brown rice syrup (look on the internet for brown rice syrup rice crispy treats, yum!) or agave.
In my opinion, baked goods made at home should never cost more than going to the bakery.

I am permanently looking for new recipes for gluten free, sugar free baking since I am intolerant to 30 different foods. I establish that some of the sugar free alternatives in this cook book are items that I have never heard of and may have to order over the internet. Not very convenient.
