Product Description
When he made the “square foot farming” method, Mel Bartholomew, a retired engineer and efficiency practiced, establish the solution to the frustrations of most gardeners. His revolutionary system is simple: it’s an ingenious planting method based on using square foot blocks of garden space as a replacement for of rows. Gardeners erect up, not down, so there’s no digging and no tilling after the first year. And the method requires less thinning, less weeding, and less watering.
“I establish a better way to garden, one that’s more well-organized, more manageable, and requires less work,” Bartholomew clarifies. Not surprisingly, his method quickly received worldwide recognition and has been written up in every major newspaper and farming magazine. His book, which served as the companion to the nationally acclaimed television series, has sold over 800,000 copies. Now freshened with new illustrations, the book Ingram calls “the largest selling garden book in America” is reissued for the delight of a whole new generation of gardeners.

My spouse, who is not a “huge” reader usually, loved this book…and has built and installed four 4′x 4′ raised gardens which we have already planted and are both looking forwards to enjoying our summer vegetable garden! They are thriving and we plot to place in a Fall garden as well. With the poor economy and prices being what they are it just seemed to be the PERFECT time to start a new and exciting project. The book is chalk full of information….you won’t regret this buy.

I bought a copy of the book “Square foot farming” it was shipped from Atlanta Book Company, it was reqresented as like new.. the only thing that was “like new” was the wrapping it was shipped in, the book appears to have been stored in a humid dirty outhouse, and though the book is usable, and the book is physically in excellent condition, I truly reflect I need to wear rubber gloves, and a respirator to touch the book..

This arrived in excellent shape, but I’d clicked on the incorrect selection. It wasn’t the book I wanted, so I returned it to the vendor.

I guess I was looking for the quick answer version. Here’s your square, now plant this….Not a book for the average gardener. Unless, of course, you are a botonist.
