Product Description
Space preparation involves much more than sketching a preliminary floor plot. A designer must take a client’s programming needs into account and must also consider how additional factors such as building codes and environmental factors affect a spatial composition. Space Preparation Basics, now in its Third Edition, offers a highly visual, step-by-step approach to developing preliminary floor plans for commercial spaces. The book provides tools for visualizing space and walks the designer through additional considerations such as building code supplies and environmental control needs. Point programming techniques covered include matrices, bubble diagrams, CAD templates, block plans, and more. New to this edition are coverage of the basics of stair design, an essential aspect for preparation spaces.

reading it makes me feel pretty much miserable, though it is something i need, and the book is reasonably helpful. i just don’t reasonably reflect it should be called “basics” because a lot of information there is advanced level. and it just brings the question of space preparation on a sad level. there are ways to talk about there in a better perspective. but still, if you don’t have any additional references, this is something excellent to use.

The book is very well written and has helped me tremendously. It came to me new so there wasn’t really anything incorrect with it. I received it promptly lacking indecision.

I needed this book for required reading for my graduate studies. It is very basic beginner space preparation thoughts. The layout and explanations are simple and helpful. I already had a grasp on everything this book covers, but it’s a excellent one to keep on the bookshelf for reference.
