Very disappointing–not well written, nor constructed. A fantastic many diction errors. Unoriginal–highly reminiscent of Elizabeth Peters, and not in a excellent way.
The leader seems gifted and ought to hold herself to a privileged standard. Don’t waste your money.

I wanted to like this since I read a lot of regencies/historicals and supernatural/vampire tales and this seemed like a two for one. That said, read the first few chapters and skimmed from there. Characters and tale just didn’t capture my interest.

I ongoing reading this book and place it down after 10 pages because I couldn’t take it anymore. I came back to it several times to try and get into it, but never could. It seemed like the humor was forced. I couldn’t even end the book because it was so annoying.

It ongoing out fantastic and then became dull quick. I’m guessing the writing goes up and down in quality. I say “guessing” because I’ve left off reading it out of boredom. And I was looking forwards to spending the evening reading this!

This would have been much better if a name had not told the leader to throw in a few more sex scenes. The first kiss is enjoyable and the scene in which they are caught in an embrace by her parents really helped with the storyline. The rest could have been cut from the tale entirely. Why feel the need to make the main characters indulge when they are left alone for more than two seconds and in the most improbable times? If I was thrown into a cell with a very pissed off werewolf by the terrible guys, I certainly would not be thinking of tearing off my clothes and getting my groove on. Now having vented:
For the most part, I liked the book. She is a strong, intelligent character. The tale is well written with the exception of above. I judge that it could have been better lacking the needless and inappropriately placed sex.
