I WAS RATHER DISAPPOINTED IN THE BOOKS I PURCHASED FROM THIS AUTHOR; YES, I KNOW THEY ARE EROTIC ROMANCE, BUT THE STORY LINE COULD BE A LOT BETTER. ONE WOULD HAVE TO READ TEN BOOKS TO GET ANY KIND OF STORY. I LIKE THIS KIND OF BOOK, BUT THERE ARE TOO MANY OTHERS THAT MANAGE TO CONVEY AN INTERESTING STORY TO PURCHASE ANY OF THESE ANY MORE. ALSO, THE BOOKS ARE VERY SHORT WHICH LEAVES LITTLE TIME TO DO ANYTHING BUT DESCRIBE SEXUAL SITUATIONS. IN A WORD, DISAPPOINTING.

The tale was excellent and it was certainly appealing to get the perspective of a “Coyote Breed”, since Coyotes are the terrible guys in all the additional books.
But, (and this is a huge “but” for me), I have a serious issue with the packaging of the book. Specifically, this book was published in the Trade paperback format and, accordingly, was priced privileged than the additional Mass Media paperbacks that make up the bulk of Lora Leigh’s Breed books. Why does this matter? Because it is a rip off. This tale is shorter than the additional books and yet I paid more for it.
I ordered this one lacking realizing that it was Trade. I later noticed that she has several others (published by Elloras Cave) that are also Trade. It appears that Elloras Cave publishes pretty much everything in the Trade Paperback format. I don’t know why they reflect that it is ok to charge MORE for something that is basically a super-sized fleeting tale. If they combined three of these tales in one book, then I’d buy it, but I won’t be reading the rest of her Breed series as long as they are only available in Trade format.
I typically read approximately one novel every two days. Consequently I refuse to pay more for a book that won’t even take me a full day to read – no matter how excellent it might be.

I establish that I loved this book until the anal sex sceen came into play. The book was a quick read and I loved the characters, but it gave me the hee-bee-gee-bees. It was not a book for me.

I delight in reading Leigh’s appealing tales about the Breeds. All are very erotic and include appealing characters. I’ve come to learn that sometimes the plot is hit or miss. Some books are full of action, adventure, and adversaries. In Soul Deep it is more a fleeting book all ears on the relationship of the two romantically involved charaters. Kiowa does have to deal emotionally and mentally with his childhood. Taken from his mother before he could even remember her and hidden by his grandfather. His gradfather would only check on the very young Kiowa once a week to drop off supplies and verbally abuse him. Overall, the characters are all ears on learning how to communicate with each additional and make it through the mating. I do have a minor complaint on the editing. There were numerious errors throughout the tale.
