I can’t criticize the leader too much, or Amazon will delete my review, but I can’t know how this book got published. Go to any frat party, and you’ll see dozens of girls like Koren, getting wasted, building out with random guys, lacking any sort of regret at all. Rumor has it that, the leader of “Smashed” now does, and has chose to write a book to warn the world of this “problem”. I have drunk alcohol on plenty of occasions, and gotten inebriated in the presence of company reasonably a few times. I’ve never done anything stupid, but I’ve come close. There’s nothing incorrect with alcohol, provided you are with excellent company and you don’t abuse it. Why should I feel sorry for Koren? The point I wished to convey in my last review was that this leader has absolutely nothing noteworthy to present to the book world, and as such, I judge this book needs a negative review. And agreed the plethora of movies and books about hard drug use, a book about alcohol abuse in college doesn’t exactly stun most people nowadays. I imagine the leader’s next book will chronicle her struggles with organic chemistry. I lie awake at night in suspense.

I ordered 3 copies of the same book from seller(3.99 shipping per item). All 3 were sent in one package. From IN to MO it took 10 days to get here (within 14 day timespan mentioned by Amazon). Didn’t get any correspondence from seller. I ongoing to worry but had to wait 2 weeks before contacting. Items were as described by seller’s description.

One of the worst books I’ve read in a long time…not sure what this leader’s additional books are like.

I guess this book is valuable for parents and teachers of similar girls re warning signs etc. Personally I am amazed she got 300 pages out of it, she must have been dabbling notes along the way to remember so much sordid detail. Her life strikes me as kind of the logical conclusion of western civilisation, what else did we expect this media culture to yield? Infantile narcissistic alcoholics lacking a bone of curiosity in their bodies. Men dont come off too excellent in this book either. The only redeeming part of the book is the endpiece rant against all the booze-pushing publicity, but coming from such an enthusiastic participant in the culture of delusion, it sounds a small whiny.

Ugh. Despite Zailckas’s messages and warnings and statistics and tales upon tales (filled, might I add, with absolutely HORRENDOUS descriptions at every turn) about drinking, I was nearly forced to crack open a bottle of Jack just to make it through this book! Sure, I felt a litle something for Zailckas what with crippling self-esteem problems and all, and even related to most of her drinking experiences, but this book is anything from fresh news. Not to mention that it reads like a tale you’re forced to workshop in a terrible freshman year creative writing workshop. I feel like I – or really any of my friends – could not only have written this book, but written it better. So why didn’t we? Because we’re too busy binge dirnking!!! Hooray!
