I got a lot of fantastic information from this book, and using the practices it espouses, I’ve gone from continually frustrated parent to getting along with my daughter so much better.
The book is so much longer than it needs to be though, the leader really examples you to death. Also, the leader using a lot of generic praise in his examples, a lot of “excellent jobs” and stuff; I prefer to use observations and specifics as a replacement for of “excellent job”-ing my kids to death, but that’s just a inclination difference.

Essentially this book tells you one technique, which seems to work most of the time: Make your request for an action, define the time frame for the action to be concluded and include a consequence (that you WILL deliver on) if the action is not done within the time frame agreed. This book is not for kids with a serious defiance disorder, or a sensory-sensitivity issue. Major misconception place into the world: babies who don’t sleep will be hard children!
