Scott Pilgrim is certainly a series worthy of anyone’s reading list. The tales are fresh, the characters are memorable, and the dialogue is fantastic, leaving your sides hurting for days.
With that said, it’s vital to note that of all the volumes out, Volume 5 is the least fantastic. The tale is confusing, the character interaction is missing, and the dialogue isn’t as hysterical as in previous volumes. Volume 5 has been highly anticipated, but leaves you going “I’ve had better.”
That’s not to say it isn’t worth alternative up a copy, especially if you’re a fan. There are some high points to the book, but it generally leaves you wanting.

This volume of Pilgrim is by and far the most serious and sad. But this turn for the darkness is fitting for the tale.
After first reading this vol i was mad at it. But now i realise that i was just used to everything effective out. Scotts life is being touched by reality and it hurts.
I pine for for the final installment.

Bryan Lee O’Malley continues to shine; this latest volume is as grand as his first volume. The character dialogues/development are brilliant, per usual. If you’ve made it this far in the series you will not be disappointed by this latest installment. O’Malley’s drawings are even more stunning than its predecessors.
Then prepare yourself for the last of the epic volumes of Scott Pilgrim and the movie (in development) that is set to relief with Michael Cera starring as Scott Pilgrim. It’s sweeping the world; jump on board.

The artwork in this book is brilliant; it’s an iconic and bold style suited perfectly to the tale. The writing itself is more than worthy of the art. Adventure and irreverence in perfect balance.
