Fantastic Pictures. Info was out of date. Reviews were not helpful and did not include enough information.
I also had Frommer’s guide to use but not up to date or helpful either.
I might try an eyewitness guide again – but not sure since info was not current. Again Fantastic Pictures.

Too many pretty pictures and not enough information to really know the essence of San Francisco. I didn’t reflect this book was worth the money.

This book contained many options for a person not familiar with the San Francisco area. It was very helpful for us when building decisions about what to see and where to go.

Like the many additional volumes in the DK Eyewitness series that I have taken to cities here and abroad, this guide is compact and very simple to use. Maps are clear and supplemented with “3-D” drawings of prominent areas and legendary neighborhoods. Descriptions of museums, architectural features, points of past importance are accurate and usually accompanied with maps highlighting notable items. In addition, the guide gives plenty of details about the Bay Area and territory north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Past notes and practical info on transportation, food, shopping are nicely illustrated (regularly with vintage photos and excellent charts) and meet the high standard of this series. Best to check on-line, but, for latest info on hours of stores, museums, entrance fees, special exhibits.

It has all the necessary places and things that were helpful to me when I was exploring in San Francisco. In the book, there is a map that is pretty helpful.
