I like his books, and his forums. But the font size is too tiny. Not everyone can read such tiny print. I reflect everyone should agree with me on that one.
I’m hoping everyone will join my action group F.L.U.F.F.E.R.

And Mr. Pelton is not Indiana Jones, as I’ve had to tell my son, but a foul-mouthed, ill-tempered, crotchety, Canadian curmudgeon.
I would recommend anything with his name on it to be used only for people in the R-17 range.

Not what you might expect and certainly out of date.

The book contains too many inaccuracies, exaggerations and nonfactual assertions to be taken for a serious account. It appears that the leader added a string of half-truths to another of hearsay and mixed it with own experiences, drawing a phantasmagoric scenery, impressing on people really unacquainted with the theme matter. Persons of us having been to the places and lived there must regard a excellent deal as tempest in a tea cup.

I wish the leader would keep his political views to himself! It does make me marvel how biased much of the writing is overall.

This book is a excellent introductory book to world’s geography and cultural and political history.
The cinical stance towards the crimes and murderous attitudes of governments, regimes and geopolitical forces is more than disturbing.
The whole matter is open in a “humorous”, “light” manner, as if death and murder are part of our everyday life and most of all moral acceptance. As if things are externally imposed (by God?) and we just observe them and live with them.
It suggests a passive compliance to events and invites us to indulge our “bourgeois” right of tourism with caution, end of tale and travel safely.
The 2 stars are just for the amount of condensed information about the world’s situation.
