This is your run of the mill Tour book that has excellent practical information (hours, maps, walking tours) but like all books made for all people and attempting not to offend any of the patrons, it lacks excellent content (about a paragraph per monument/church/museum). It is too thick for the lack of information it doesn’t have.

Better than the average travel guide, except photos are limited. Excellent information. Predictable of Rick Steves. doubt there are many changes from 2009, but have honestly not set down and compared them.

I recently returned from a trip to Rome and this was an brilliant book to take with me. I didn’t place my hotel room lacking it.

Potential Buyers need to know … most of the personal info is aimed only at US residents – thus if one dislikes being addressed as a resident of the US then this product is not for them.
Otherwise the information is useful.

I like Rick Steve’s guidebooks. They give fantastic information and tell you what is really excellent to visit. They also give fantastic tips like shortcuts from one attraction to another. I carried his Florence book around every day during our week long trip last year and plot to do the same in Rome this year.
