Tom Clancy’s most shocking tale to date – and closer to reality than any government would care to admit.
Over the course of nine novels, Tom Clancy’s “genius for huge, compelling plots” and his “natural narrative gift” (The New York Times Magazine) have customary him as one of the preeminent storytellers of our time. In his new and most extraordinary novel, Rainbow Six, Clancy goes beyond anything he has done before.
At its heart is John Clark, the ex-Navy SEAL of Lacking Remorse, a master of secret operational missions, and newly named the head of an international task force dedicated to struggle terrorism. Clark is looking forwards to sinking his teeth into a new mission, but the opportunities start coming quicker than anyone could have expected; an incident at a Swiss bank, the kidnapping of an international trader in Germany, a terrible raid on an amusement park in Spain.
Each episode seems separate, yet the timing disturbs Clark. Is there a tie? He tries to figure out where all this activity is heading, but there is no way to predict the real threat: a group of terrorists like none the world has ever encountered, a group so extreme that their success could factually mean the end of life on this planet as we know it.
This is Clancy at his best – and there is none better.
Amazon.com Review
No one would have blamed David Dukes if he had declined reading for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six. Not only is “Rainbow” a melting pot of secret-agent vernacular, but the 700-page-plus book version runs at a rampant pace–this despite the usual wealth of Clancy detail. But actor and audio pro Dukes (and the editor reliable for condensing the speech onto six hours of tape) handles this daunting task commendably, applying a steady–but not urgent–Everyman’s tone and imparting a sense that we’re hearing the whole tale. Listeners may want more, but will be satiated with this abridged rendition.
Dukes also bounces seamlessly among dialects, giving distinct but simple-to-know voices to Rainbow, a colorful cast of international excellent guys assembled to save the world from terrorism. The group is led by a sometimes violent but justice-minded ex-CIA agent, John Clark, who is proof that Clancy can paint a dark protagonist as vividly as his excellent knight, Jack Ryan. But Rainbow Six is an equally bright showcase for reader Dukes, who, like Clark, is bent on providing justice. Dukes’s reading gives justice to the abridged form. While my expectations were much privileged for this book, I did get a excellent laugh at the end. Additional than that, I wrote the tale about 100 pages in, the political rambling on various topics got ancient really quick, and the perfection of the Rainbow group was dull. Also, I felt that the characters were never really developed. I’d skip this one and read Lacking Remorse as a replacement for.

I’m a 15 year ancient female, who was assigned to this book by a group of, suprise suprise, 3 males of my same age.
Now, I’m a huge TC fan, I loved Red October, and I’m honestly up-to-date with my techno-jargan, but honestly…
Lacking reiterating what many have so eloquently posted, my copy (which I bought used for $1, a bit over-priced if you question me)now sits half burned, torn to bits in a confront of my room where I flung it against the wall.

first of all, i bought this book expecting for the thrills. and theres no lack of thrill obviously. but, this is the tale for too machoic and selfish people for additional PEOPLEs.
main characters lead the tale as if they are such a super-man or justice of the peace. they reflect describing this way is so rightful and powerful(not cool at all ever!!!!).
im veryvery disapointed now for buying this, not in rental.

I’ve really never read this book. But the video game looks pretty neato and I invented the internet. As you know, I’m running for president of the United States and would appreciate a vote for me. So remember, vote for me because I invented the internet.
