I didnt learn anything from this book. Everything is so intricate. It is not for people how dont have any thought about survival living.

The book was very excellent. But the photography could have been a small better. Also the book was should have been sent in two to three days, but I got it in two weeks. So I probably should have just bought it at the bookstore as a replacement for.

I establish this book to be poorly written, inadequately edited, and virtually impossible to use alone. Chapter three details building a bow and arrow using modern tools and deer sinew. There’s no explanation of how to get deer sinew if you don’t have the tools to hunt deer. I’m sure there’s information in here. . .the chapter on building fire looked like it may be useful if you’re willing to drag through the amateur writing. Overall, but, I establish the book to be a waste of time and money.

It is rare for me to feel nearly completely negative about a publication.
If this is your first survival book and you are looking to learn the basics of survival then I feel this is not the book. Honestly if I had not been so busy I would have returned the book.
It is clear that Mr. McPherson is veteran but one has to translate that experience in a well written, well illustrated, manner in order to convey that experience to the unfledged. The horrible and I mean horrible black and white photos and the writing which too regularly assumes that one knows the definitions of may of the terms used in providing an explanation makes for a quick turn-off to the novice.
In fairness this book might be fantastic for a name who has some experience. But, in this day and age of DVDs and well illustrated colored photos and diagrams this book sorely fails to make learning simple for the novice. For me, this book was a terrible first buy.
I wish I could trade this book in for a DVD by Mr. Pherson, perhaps in that media he could convey his experience well.
