Product Description
‘It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains.’ So starts Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, an expanded edition of the beloved Jane Austen novel featuring all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie mayhem. As our tale opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the silent English village of Meryton and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she’s soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead. Can she vanquish the spawn of Satan? And overcome the social prejudices of the class-conscious landed gentry? Perfect with romance, heartbreak, swordfights, cannibalism, and thousands of rotting corpses, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies transforms a masterpiece of world literature into something you’d really want to read.

When I read about this new book in the Washington Post, I was dumbfounded that it employed the concept of placing zombies in Pride and Prejudice (not exactly the most common thought in the world). I do not know if this plagerism was intentional or not, but I find it distasteful that this leader is published using an thought from another leader. The thought of placing zombies in Pride and Prejudice seems to be a unique one, and certainly I thought so when I read a post about the concept in Inside a Dog.

Am I suddenly supposed to like this Seth Grahame-Smith person because he wrote a whole book about what another leader already did in a well loved blog?

I’m a small horrified. Not from the zombies… I’m horrified that a name can take this tale, a tale that Jane Austin worked so hard to make, and turn it into this. It’s sad Jane Austin spent so much time writing her tales and making her characters only to have them ripped apart.

Sounds appealing. I haven’t read or even ordered this book but if I did I marvel how long it would take to arrive?

Seth is a UPenn grad with no appreciation for Austen. I don’t like his fake British name or porn-oriented books that he authored. Dull. Seth keep with the Huffington Post, and let us women delight in Austen as it was proposed.

Is your pet rock lonely? Is your bald Chia Pet languishing on a shelf in the garage? This book will keep them company. Another fad with no staying power. I like Austen and I adore zombie movies of all flavors, but the added leader here ran out of fresh material at the end of the title. Don’t bother to buy this book and don’t bother with any of the related titles. Unless of course you have a dozen Cabbage Patch dolls and they need something to read.
