This is one of the brilliant PMP book to have in each project manager & software engineers book shelf.
Very nicely written and clarified book to know as well as prepare for PMP exam.

I had the previous version of the book and applied for CAPM certification. I used it to take in some knowledge areas, and establish it very hard to follow, as it is very closely modeled after the PMBOK, which is also more of a reference book than a study aid or guide.
The new one updates the material to the 4th edition of the PMBOK, but still manages to be too dull to keep me interested.
Would recommend Andy Crowe’s book as a replacement for. There you will really PASS ON YOUR FIRST TRY.

I have additional credentials to work on and take before I can prep for the exam, so I didn’t even take a look at it the book. It did come highly recommended, so when I am ready I will be looking for the same book – just aligned with whatever version is the latest at that time.
