A DANGEROUS BEAUTY…
Lucia the Huntress: as mysterious as she is exquisite, she harbors secrets that threaten to ruin her — and persons she likes.
AN UNCONTROLLABLE NEED…
Garreth MacRieve, Prince of the Lykae: the brutal Highland warrior who burns to finally aver this maddeningly sensual creature as his own.
THAT LEAD TO A PLEASURE SO WICKED….
From the shadows, Garreth has long watched over Lucia. Now, the only way to keep the proud huntress safe from harm is to convince her to accept him as her guardian. To do this, Garreth will ruthlessly exploit Lucia’s greatest weakness — her wanton desire for him.

After reading HUNGER LIKE NO OTHER and having to wait years for Lucia’s tale just to get a dull read…it is just sickening. The previews for the next book is just unadorned stupid your going to but hoods over immortals heads like that is going to stop them. It reeks to much of her dear friend Gena Showalter where there going to round up characters just to fight them to the death like in Showalter’s Vampire Bride which was another book that was so dull I just gave up on it. Really…find another book to read this one just stunk to high heavens.

Although I have loved this leader’s additional books and I was keenly awaiting this one, somehow I didn’t get into it like all the previous books on this series, I had a hard time reading it and finished it cause I wanted to see the end. Maybe next book.

I was really looking forwards to a new Kresley Cole book, but was terribly disappointed with this one. I’m only about 3/4 of the way through the book and I’m hard place not to just place it down and abandon it completely. So far, I have three problems with this book:
1. It focuses way too much on tying the characters in this book to characters in the others. Don’t get me incorrect – I really like it when all the books from a series tie together. But so much time was wasted explaining characters from additional books that it really detracted from the tale. Every additional book in the series stands on its own. This one doesn’t, or at least Cole doesn’t let it – she keeps describing characters from additional books who aren’t central to this one’s tale.
2. Normally Cole is a very evocative writer, taking advantage of locations and situations the characters are in to make an action-packed thriller/romance. Sorry to say, although Cole has the perfect set up – Tomb Raider meets romance – the characters spend so much time in angst- and lust-filled reveries, the tale falls flat just when it should get really exciting.
3. Way, way too many ellipses. Let me repeat this. Way, way too many ellipses. Or maybe I should’ve said, “Way, way too many ellipses…?” I’m not sure if this was a problem with the editor or the leader, but every additional paragraph seems to have an ellipses at the end, I assume for emphasis or to prompt longing or maybe just because somebody got confused, but it looks ridiculous and really interferes with really reading the book.

I have read all the books in this series and I like everyone of them. The way Kresley Cole intertwines each book with the additional. While reading the newest edition I remember the tales of the additional books. I can’t wait til the next one comes out. I am going to go back and read all of them over again to see if I can pick up on details I might have missed. Books #1, 3, and this last one is my favorite. Coincidentally they have the werewolf characters. Kudos to you Kresley Cole and keep up with the immortals after dark. I am overly excited to read on, expecially when Nucking Futs Nix’s tale comes out. That will be the best one I judge.

well, i really like this leader and i usually can’t place her stuff down but, this one was just okay i didn’t feel the passion between the two characters like with all the additional books by her but if you like this leader and this series you should read it anyway.
